E! Network CANCELS “The Simple Life”

July 31st, 2007

The show that skyrocketed Paris Hilton & Nicole Richie to fame “The Simple Life” by E! Networks has officially been CANCELLED!  The cancellation comes as both Paris & Nicole’s run-ins with the law continue to escalate, and viewership has gone WAY Down.

The show enjoyed a nice successful 2 year run, and E! gave praise to Paris & Nicole for their hard work on the show.

OJ Simspon’s “If I Did It” To Be Released

July 31st, 2007

So a judge has decided that 90% of the sales from “If I Did It”, OJ’s book about how he would have killed Nicole Simpson beacause we all know he didn’t do it…right? Will go to the family of Ron Goldman. The other 10% will be given to a now bankrupt charity that OJ’s daughter runs.

This seems kind of shady especially since everyone thought this book shouldn’t be published a couple months ago. Now the Goldman’s are saying they’re planning to release the book and make millions. The family of Nicole Brown Simpson has come forward to say they don’t support the book being released and Fred Goldman is being a greedy ole’ daddy!

How long do you think these families should be allowed to smack OJ around?

Dear Summer: Patrica Field Styles For New ABC Show “Cashmere Mafia”

July 31st, 2007

Costume Designer Patricia Field is set to take care of the styling for ABC’s new show “Cashmere Mafia” starring Lucy Liu. The show is about a group of girlfriends from high school who grow up to be successful executives. It shows how they turn to one another for advice as they juggle the high demands of their career and family needs in the heart of New York City.

Sounds familiar? Yup that’s right Sex and the City. Field, was one of the reasons Sex and the City became so popular, and her creative imaging of the characters made a huge impact on fashion. She turned Sarah Jessica Parker into a household name and a fashion icon through her character, journalist Carrie Bradshaw, never repeating an outfit. Lucy Liu had this to say about the designer’s creativity:

“Patricia Field is somebody that we were lucky enough to have come onto our show. She has an incredible talent for putting together pieces and making them look like art. She never repeats an outfit, as she said in my fitting, and she also puts together things that you would never imagine. I mean, she could put, you know, something from the 80s, put a modern belt on it, and put some shoes, with a purse form the 70s and the look looks great. And she also goes with what she thinks the actors are like and what she’s seen of our work and how we move and how we — you know, how we like to illuminate the screen. And so she sort of puts that in conjunction with what we are working on to create a new look. And because she also did “Sex and the City,” which I know that a lot of people will be comparing the two shows, she knows what not to repeat. If anything, she’s going to want to start something completely new because that’s who she is. She doesn’t even like to repeat her own work. So that’s the one thing we are graced with in terms of fashion, is her. I think we can just kind of show up and have her throw anything she wants on us.”

There is no doubt that the show will be largely compared to Sex and the City. Although knowing Patricia Field work I’m sure she will bring an exuberant amount of creativity and exclusive forward fashion trends.

Cashmere Mafia premieres on Tuesday night November 1st at 9pm on ABC.
