Volvo is already world renown for being one of the safest cars, but now they are taking it to the next level by promising to create a car that will be “injury proof” for passengers in an “almost any” accident by 2020. The Swedish automaker is saying they will fit the car with radar, sonar and other technology to prevent and mitigate crashes. In the event of a crash, when most drivers freeze, the car would steer and brake on its own. Cutting pre-impact speed by even 10 mph would cut the death rate in half, so self-braking systems are key to reducing traffic fatalities.
Would you bet your LIFE on it?

I don’t think I would substitue technology for human intuition… Instinct is what drive us, and separates us from machine, the ability to decipher in an instant and react, I trust my instincts, though I wouldn’t mind a the back up from Volvo on nights when that Louis XIII has impaired my other wise perfect judgement!!!
is it hybrid?
I trust VOLVO’s… true story – my sister was driving on the highway late at night (in an old 1992 Volvo station wagon)…and fell asleep at the wheel… she woke up and crashed HEAD on into a tree going at least 50 or 60 mph… the car? totaled…
my sister and her (then) boyfriend?
the only injury she had was a sore neck and burn from the airbag… her boyfriend was unharmed
SO, NOW do you trust volvos?
and PS: her boyfriend wasn’t even wearing a seatbelt…
@ Sunny….yhey are lucky!!!
