Let me first apologize to MsKarla who is taking some heat that I may have indirectly pushed her way. I must say that my original comment was an attempt at being as facetious as the topic. But after reading the comments, I have to say some good points were raised.

HotMale… uhh, his words are sometimes very “unorthodox” but not entirely untrue. LilWaynians know their king calls the women in his kingdom, “bitches”. Jay-Z has had 99 problems, “but a bitch aint one”. To big Snoop Dogg, “bitches aint nothin but hoes and tricks”. A lot of you ladies like Kanye West. Well, did you know he likes “mutts”? That’s what he calls light-skinned women, which he prefers.

What I want you to consider in all of this is how true you are being to yourself and your Sistas out there. Keep it real, now, if Flava Flav said he doesn’t like “dark butts” would you be as offended if Usher or Ludacris or LL Cool J or Nelle made that kind of remark? Come on, now! I’ve heard women say they can listen to a rapper talk about hoes because they know it’s not them the rapper is talking about. What scientific formula do you have that determines he calling the third chick in from the left a ho, but not you?

We do a disservice to our Sistas all over when these double standards are set. If women are upset when Monkey Boy, the new GI Joe action figure calls them, Dark Butts, then Sistas, you should be equally offended if not more when a good looking rapper calls women bitches and hoes and good for nothing more than to transport his cocaine on the GreyHound or give him head.

Meant to copy more of your comment. Karma is a bitch. You can’t control what color your kid is going to be. He it not that bright(skin wise and opinion wise). Snoop said that dark skin girls are not the ones picked for videos. Snoops daughter is a beautiful choclate color little girl. Our job as a parent is to allow it to be know that our children of what ever color can be anything they want to be. This dude Yung Berg may just be as immatue as his name. the “dark butt” comment was totally uncalled for and his mother is dark-skinned-there are reasons besides “preference” why Black men prefer light-skinned women-I think Black men should recognize that; as a dark skinned woman it upsets and disappoints me that some/many Black men have a “preference” for light skinned women that they cannot explain…so sad, at least have valid reason for your preference not just an overarching stereotype or misconception
