First, you all have to know that this young man went to Harvard at age 15 so he never really got to have a normal childhood. On top of that he, himself is still young. he is in his early twenties so 18 is not far fetched for him.
When I was 17 I was dating a 22 year old and my family loved him. I was an only child of a single parent so I had to grow up a bit faster than others. She is in an industry where you grow up fast so she and he may be on the same maturity level at this point.
