This song by Katy Perrry which had been number 1 on charts for 7 weeks about two girls doing the Lindsay Lohan is getting hotter and hotter…but get this, her parents who are “devout Christians” hate it and are speaking out. According to her mother, Mary Hudson in a recent interview:
“I hate the song. It clearly promotes homosexuality and its message is shameful and disgusting. Katy knows how I feel. We are a very outspoken family and she knows how disappointed her father and I are. I can’t even listen to that song. The first time I heard it I was in total shock. When it comes on the radio I bow my head and pray. We cannot cut her out of our lives as she is our child but she knows we disagree strongly with what she is doing and the message she is promoting regarding homosexuality which the Bible clearly states is a sin. But the Bible also promotes understanding and forgiveness, which I keep reminding myself. Katy is not a homosexual but I fear she has been led astray by the Hollywood crowd. I pray all the time that God will work through her and help her find salvation.”

how do you reconcile makin bread and Gods will, you cant use that bread to bribe your way into heaven, there are still a few people who live life based on principles and not material things.
I totally concur with her mother….she has a lot of courage to say that out loud against her own daughter.

I just wonder how does one choose to be gay? It seems to me that if it were really a choice, not many people would be choosing it. I mean who chooses to be hated, live in fear of being discovered, and constantly scorned and banished to hell? A truly straight person can not choose to be gay, and truly gay person can not choose to be straight.
I understand where her Mother is coming from. She’s didnt say anything crazy she just kept it real about she feels. You gotta respect that.
It’s this simple. If you believe in God you have to believe in the devil. Period there is no way around it. If you believe in any of the BIBLE you have to believe in all of it. God isn’t half way he is the truth. If his word says it, it’s real. God loves everyone, the sinners, the homosexuals, the liars everyone, but you must repent of your sins to go to heaven.
Whether you feel like you were born gay, we are all born sexual, but fornication is still a sin, acting on your homosexuality is a sin period. Jesus said it will be harder for the rich to make it to heaven… your money will burn in hell with you.
I think she is honest. Im not a big fan of the bible toters but I like the fact that she mentioned that the bible also states that we should be understanding of others and forgiving. So often people pick and choose what they want to quote from the bible to make a case and its wrong.
Not to engage in a debate, but to respond to a comment about believing everything in the bible. It’s my understanding that homosexuality was only mentioned in the old testament before Christ came. and after Christ’s ascention back into heaven God said to do away with the rules of the old testament. The rules of the old testament were written to lead the Jews out of slavery. But then Christ decided to die for us all and offer everyone of every nation salvation and ever lasting life just by believing in him. So those who think that every homo is going to hell basically doesn’t believe in the promise Christ made to us all by the giving of his life for our sins in exchange for our faith in him.

wow… first off.. if you believe in GOD you DO NOT have to believe in the DEVIL. You can Believe in GOD for you own pesonal reasons and not because of some one told you..I.E. a Priest, the men who wrote the bible, Christians and all others. I believe in GOD because I saw. Never saw the Devil and I don’t believe in the DEVIL. That was in response to another comment.
