Steve Stoute Inducted Into Advertising Hall Of Achievement

by admin on 11/18/2008 · 4 comments

Today the guy behind the S. Carter & G-Unit sneakers, Gwen Stefani’s Harajuku camera, THIS commercial and your favorite artist getting a big check, former Interscope President Steve Stoute was inducted into The Advertising Hall of Achievement for individuals under 40 who have made an impact in advertising. In a statement to allhiphop $toute who went from managing Nas to owning his own advertising company had this to say:

“Being awarded today was significant, [because] it wasn’t just me. They’ve inducted the work that I’ve done, which is primarily bred from the culture of Hip-Hop. The 12 of 13 years in the business makes me feel great, knowing that Hip-Hop played a very important role in my career. It being acknowledged by the mainstream media executives and advertising moguls from around the world felt great. Doors will be opened for others to really have a shot at controlling our image and preserving the cultural realities that Hip-Hop has to offer. Instead of interpreting it now, the real guys will have a chance to get in the door and do it right.”

Perhaps since he is a advertising genius he can figure out a way to get black folks out of the Hamburger Helper commercials.

It is nice to see someone setting positive examples to Black youth, so that they know that there are options OUTSIDE of the music industry. Congratulations to him.

@ no name, I totally agree!

Hopefully more black professionals in other lines of work will become more visible and possibly serve as inspiration to our misguided youth. Good look Steve!
