Okay… so US Airways Flight 1549 took off from Laguardia airport at around 3:11pm en route to Charlotte, North Carolina. Shortly after takeoff, the pilot radioed that he had hit a patch of birds (seagulls) and was beginning to experience engine difficulty. Rather than continuing to the destination, he decided his best bet was to land the plane in the Hudson River. The flight was carrying 151 passengers and 5 crew members, who were being carried off the plane by boats at press time.
