Agree with Brody… nothing wrong with this. It sounds fine. I just think she needs more energy, but its still fine.

I happen to like it…When people hear Solange they expect to hear Beyonce’s voice…It ain’t happening..Solange doesn’t go over the top like her sister and I like that. Besides, most of those songs that y’all jam too on B’s cd…Solange wrote…
This sounds just fine.I agree with the energy factor but she sounds good. Watch her next CD is going to do well. IDK why her first, well, second one didn’t but I know she’ll get more love next time.
That song is AMAZING!! that being said, she shouldnt have done that song. nice try, but she really SHOULD NOT have done it.
That was horrible …… she would have got voted off Idol for that one …. its sad how people with REAL talent cant break into the industry or struggle but just because you are _______’s sister / brother the world opens up to you……

I CO-SIGN P, SHE WILL ALWAYS BE KNOWN AS B’S LITTLE SISTER. I WOULDN’T SAY THAT SHE WROTE/ CO-WROTE SONGS ON B’S ALBUM TO LOUD. THOSE NURSERY RHYMES HAVE SERIOULSY RUN THEIR COURSE. “I’M UP ON HIM, HE UP ON ME, DON”T PAY HIM ANY ATTENTION?” WTF?
Solange didn’t write single ladies if I’m not mistaken. To many haters out there for her to reach her full potential as far as recognition. She has the best underrated cd out this year, and it’s sad that no one will give her a chance because they are expected Beyonce. Those two have two totally different styles that you can’t even compare them. Solange’s lyrical content is ridiculous, she is way more open then B’, not to mention Solange writes a good percentage of Beyonce’s hits. “Get Me Bodied” ring a bell anyone. This cover wasn’t to bad, I love that song, and it’s good to see it expressed in a different way. Stop hating folks.
I love this song…didnt mind solange at all…her album i enjoyed as well (but i agree wit the 1st comment…the twitching could have been left out lol)

Im not trying to hate on the girl but the only thing that separates you or any American Idol contestant from Solange is Voice lessons and a Famous sister with $$$…..and NO I dont mean voice lessons after you work your 9-5 Job, I mean voice lesson like learning to carry a tune IS my 9-5 job and the some person teach me is going to leave here and go tune up Janet jackson or somebody!

Being as though I’m in the music profession myself, I can safely say I know what I’m talking about. Notice I didn’t say anything about her singing. If you only judge a cd on whether or not the artist is a good singer, than I feel sorry for you. Her cd is very underrated, and if she wasn’t related to Beyonce’ than I think she would have had better success with this album. The style of music is awesome, the lyrics are awesome, the singing is okay, and her expression for HER music is awesome.
Now if you want the same thing you hear on the radio all day long, than Beyonce is your choice. I once remember a time, when Beyonce was seen as innovative and her lyrical content and creativity was bananas, but not so much. It just seems that she wants to be hot, and have hot singles. Meh, been done and heard before.

Basically what you just said just proved my point. But first, why would I NOT take weather or not the SINGER can SING into consideration when judging a CD? (perhaps I should feel sorry for you?) From everything you said there about the CD unless she produced, wrote, and arranged EVERY song on the album then the situation is exactly what I just said….. “marginally talented sibling that can afford to focus solely on taking lessons then benefit off of said siblings fame”

Now to show you I dont judge a CD on signing alone I actually got 808′s and Heartbreak on Itunes ;-P …. but that makes me a lot of other stuff I guess huh?
Firstly P, I’m not trying to insult you, so you can chill right there. Being the best singer in the world doesn’t always guarantee you a good album. If that was the case than Mariah Carey would have the best albums in the world. I mean Britney Spears can’t sing worth a lick, but she has star quality, and her last cd is actually very good. Maybe I should have put it that way. Your talking about she wouldn’t have won Idol, and anybody in the business knows that Idol is a bunch of bunk. What I see in Solange is the whole package, she is a better singer than I thought she was, but she definitely isn’t her sister in that capacity. But her cd is so much more than just singing. It’s actually an opportunity for people to understand who SHE is outside of her family, and once you listen to it, you will find out that she is nothing like her sister, that she is her own person, with her own experiences, and she expresses it in her own way. Which happens to be really good.
I have to ask, have you even her her cd yet? Or are you just judging her on what the media and other people have said, instead of forming your own opinions.

Quite honestly I dont really “follow” her or her sister that closely… All I know is she had a baby with a guy and thats about it so I honestly didnt have a position either good or bad …. I have no idea when her CD came out and if I saw it I wouldnt pick it up. From the little excerpts I hear and little bit I do see she is pretty much average talent (Im not talking about her song writing or what ever) getting a boost up because her sister is know the world over. Im not saying she would win Idol or how far she would go in Idol (yeah I know the fix is in) Im just usng it as an example ….. you can take any of those runner-ups and put them in the same place with a famous who ever to give them the push and you have the same thing if not something better do to actual ability. Yeah britney and who ever else you names cant sing too well either but they have the “IT” factor or the Charisma to pull off what they are doing

if she wasn’t related to beyonce she never would have gotten a deal. she by some miracle she would have gotten a deal on her own, she wouldn’t have been allowed to sing and butcher grown folks music up. i didn’t know that you were allowed to do that to someone elses song. terrible
