As we first reported Usher’s wife Tameka was having some sort of plastic surgery when something went wrong and he had to fly to be by her side, now Ellen Dasptry, a representative for Sao Paulo plastic surgeon Dr. Silvio Sterman, who was to have performed the surgery is giving the details of exactly what happened:

“Tameka Raymond came here on Friday to do a liposuction. Shortly after she went under [general] anesthesia, she suffered a cardiac arrest. When an attack like this happens, the doctors put the patient to sleep… and make sure that everything is okay and that there has not been any damage. This is the protocol every time and this is what was done.” After nearly a week of recovery, she “is doing very well,” Ellen tells People magazine.

Now people are starting to question if doctor’s two month wait before performing the liposuction was long enough after Tameka had given birth to the couple’s son Naveid Ely Raymond. Usher’s representative Simone Smalls released a statement earlier this week saying:

“Tameka Raymond is in stable condition after suffering complications from routine surgery in Brazil. Her husband Usher is with her at the hospital. No further details will be released, and the family requests privacy at this difficult time.”

Wow.  Luckily the doctors were some professionals….
