Today in a New York City courtroom the $65 BILLION dollar pyramid schemer finally faced the music for his crime – conning more than 1,300 people into investing with his imaginary investment firm.  According to court reports many victims got to read off their angry letters to Bernie before he read off about a six minute speech saying how he will be tormented by his crimes for the rest of his life, even turning directly to them to say he’s sorry.

The 71-year old Madoff was eventually given 150 years (the maximum) by the judge who said he still didn’t believe Bernie was telling everything he knew about where the rest of the money is and that he will never again see the light of day.  Besides being stripped of all their assests his wife Ruth will be allowed to keep about $2.5 million dollars.
