Yeah I was definitely saying that singing with such emotions may not bring out the best sound. But I know Mariah can sing so everyone there gets a pass.

I have to agree with bluegrass boi. Mariah ruined her voice YEARS ago, trying to break glasses when she sang…..singing well outside of a comfortable octave. Her new single being done with a vo-corder is testament to that…..when Mariah starts to sound like T-Pain and Lil’ Wayne, it’s a problem.

I was streamin’ (from this site and cnn) the memorial from my desk at my job with no audio and I was able 2 tell she was holdin’ back tears. I thought the service overall was wonderful. RIP MJ.

Circles around any chick currently in the game….hhhmmm She does not have the range like Beyonce, jill scott, toni braxton shit celine dion, and we won’t comment on her stage show… The last few times i have seen her (the neighborhood ball in January) she has sounded a bit off. I’m not going to call her an outward Liar (LIAR!) and question her emotions but…. her performance was cracked and left much to be desired. At the end of the day I still have love for mimi but don’t go throwin stones while livin in glass houses mimi fans!
She sounded bad yesterday, at least she admitted it. Her fans must not have heard the very first word out of her motuh when she hit the stage. She cracked the second that mic went on, and she ended bad.
Her voice is different. She can still sing but I think shed be better off singing in her full voice at all times because the old octaves are pretty much gone as evidenced yesterday.

Each person is different. Some can handle their emotions well and some can’t. I thought Mariah did pretty well considering she was the first to perform and was trying to hold it together without crying. Imagine standing on that stage overlooking Michael’s casket and then trying to sing one of his songs. She started out shakey, but she pulled it together. As for Jennifer Hudson, I thought it was remarkable that she could perform so well because of what she recently went through. No one knows what she was feeling during her performance.
