It was quite interesting to say the least! Yes, Bill Maher is funny at times, but I would say not one of his finest moments. The reason being, why are all these white folks being so down right subliminal right now. When Elvis died, Americans (Whites) morned for years even now. Yes, M.J. had his faults, but so did Elvis but White America and the media has emortalized him also! I just find it rather embrassing that they are being more critical to a dead men than when he was alive. Didn’t Elvis die of a drug overdoes? Didn’t he have people who allowed him to do whatever he wanted? Didn’t he have scandles when he was alive? YES TO ALL THE ABOVE! Personally to me, it seems that white America and the media is trying very hard to kill this man’s memory, but you can not and will not. He is alrady in the history books and we refuse to let you take that away, like you did our African, African American, and Black history; however you want to name it! MJ is part of our history also just like other pioneers, and you can’t take that away from us no matter how hard you try!

@napual I agree with you that MJ is already in the record books, but they ripped him a new one waaaaay before he died…Everytime he did something weird, he got ripped. And as far as Elvis, I don’t know how old you are, but if you have ever been to Vegas you will see an Elvis impersonator in every casino…and not young Elvis when he was King, I mean old fat, rhinestone elvis…They make jokes about Elvis ALL THE TIME…they talk about how fat he was, how over the top he was, how he blew alot of money and just down right weird towards the end….When your THAT famous like Elvis or MJ…race doesnt matter anymore…if you fall, people will make jokes, dead or alive.

The reason you don’t hear as many Elvis jokes now is the same reason you won’t hear as many Michael Jackson jokes 30 years from now…because those jokers will be gone & the new jokers won’t know nearly as much about him.

Besides, it’s unfortunate, but we’re living in a different time now. Comedians or whoever didn’t have as much liberty to say shit, especially about a god-like white man, as they do today. That’s why Richard Pryor & even George Carlin used to catch so much grief. People can almost say or do whatever they want in movies on cable these days.

I understand & kinda agree with what Napaul is saying because i grew up on Michael & loved him to death, but you also have to think about it from this perspective, too. And again, nothing being said about MJ, by Bill Maher, isn’t true.

I felt a little bad at some of the things he said… but I have to say he made some pretty real points.

Especialy the debt point. 1 trillion dollars THIS YEAR. Imagine the intrest payments on that? 5% would be:
$50,000,000,000 aka 50 billion dollars a year in interest.

While we were trying to save ourselves from the great derpession 2, we maybe in for something much worst. I am starting to think we should have just taken our medicine (lol) and failed so we could have come back stronger.

… I gotta stop ranting about this before I explode lol
