Nice Try Trina Thompson!

College fund

In what we feel like could be a new trend 27-Year old Trina Thompson is suing her former college Monroe College in the Bronx for the $70,000 in tuition she paid because she has been unable to find a job since graduating in April.  Trina says she blames the school for not providing her with enough jobs leads or post college advice.  “The lawsuit is completely without merit,” says school spokesman Gary Axelbank.

the.LIFE Files says, “Give it some time Trina.  You JUST graduated.”

but seriously…70k for undergraduate education is kinda ridiculous ppl…

at most you should only spend like 40 to 50 at most for undergrad….

no need for ridiculous shit….

folks try to go to the most expensive schools cuz they think that makes them a better candidate or something.. at the end of the day its all about what you study and how well u did….u can go to a 10k a yr school get 4.0 gpa and be in a better position than someone who went to a 20k a yr school and a 2.9gpa..

smarten up ppl…..

I looked it up and Monroe college is $5,872 a semester and they have three semesters a year. it is one of the lowest price private colleges around. and my friend who goes there says the professors are great and really care, along with being very helpful. Isn’t it too soon for her to complain about not getting a job? it took me a year. And this economy sucks.

Well I just graduated in June and have yet to find a job, but I understand that not many people are hiring due to the economy.

What did she major in, Law with a concentration in frivolous law suits?

This has to be the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard! Does this chick know how many graduates from far more prestigious schools around this country can not find jobs? She should be sued for selfish, asinine abuse of the judicial system.

Colleges don’t make any gurantees to their students. They will prepare you as best they can but it’s up to the student to have common sense, choose the right major and know how to hustle and market themselves after graduating. A lot people are under the misconception that a degree guarantees you an immediate good job. But this broad and her lawsuit take the cake.

I would like to know how long this young lady went to school. I completed a double masters and paid about 35K in tuition. I am still looking for a job and my GPA was 3.97. Welcome to the real world, Trina. Go work at McDonalds. You should have has a better GPA…Actually 70K should have paid for a 4.0 GPA

That’s hilarious. On what grounds is she suing the college if she is not personally employable?

Well, if she wasn’t unemployable before, she certainly is now. What graduate careers are going to be open to someone who files poitless lawsuits? The graduate jobs market is hard but it has never been easy. And that’s not the responsibility of the college.
