A couple days ago a video surfaced of deceased legendary rapper Big Pun’s wife Liza Rios talking about how she lives in a New York city shelter because she never was taken care of after he passed away. Fat Joe has just come forward and released this exclusive statement to the.LIFE Files on the whole situation:
“Immediately after Puns death I gave Liza Rios the whole advance of the Endangered Species album, NO ONE but Liza made a dollar off that album. I also gave her the total advance from the publishing company that was due to Big Pun.
I’ve never made a dollar off Big Pun since his passing. This was hundreds of thousands of dollars of frivolous spending, after the second payoff I washed my hands. Since then we have been through 6 lawyers, harassment on various radio stations and online mediums every time she needs more money. I also have legal documents stating that NO ONE is making money off of Big Pun.
I sympathize with Liza, but I have done already done enough for her. In these economic times we as parents need to be resilient and do what it takes to provide for our own families.”

Dude died OVER 10 years ago. How long does she expect someone to keep giving her money if what Fat Joe said was true? Its not like people are even buyin CDs like that anyway most people under the age of 25 really don’t know too much about Puns music. As far as the ringtones go artist didn’t start getting paid off them till recently and that only happened when it was getting writin into their contracts. I doubt anyone was thinkin about ringtone money 10 years ago.

i think that he should brake her off some more i mean isnt he “ballin” or is it all just music ?? Provide for your family ? wasnt Pun your family ?? Fuck giving her money cop a 200 thousand $ building for her so she and her family can live and rent out the rest of the appartements to others so she can eat.. he acts like shes the enemy.. i’m not down with that he should hold Puns kids down PERIOD
but on an other note most of us never get 100 or 200 thousand $ around the same period of time. Where is that money and why doesnt she get a job ??? Write a book, put a compilation cd out ?? she is not griding and is probably not educated at all so she is part of the problem.. will she ask for money in 20 years ??

Liza cry me a river! I seen the video and im sorry but I DONT feel bad for her. Like Shizz said he died over 10 years ago is Puns cd still making money like that? I mean seriously? she needs to get a job and support herself and her kids and stop worrying about Fat Joes money.
I also think she should work!money that goes out doesnt last long!these widows should smarten up and stop spending?
I think she has no real ambition , if what Fat Joe said is true then she needs to get her affairs in order ,10 years is a long time with some of that money she should have been going to college or something .
But if Fat Joe is lying then by all means he need to break her off some chedda . If he says that pun was his twin then puns kids should have to want for nothing .
This is when adults should put there differnces to the side and focus more on the welfare of the children . If Pun was my boy I would get a good lawyer and set up something for the children where they can go to private school and a decent place to live , how is it that this woman is living in a shelter this shit is not adding up to me .
Honestly…..Why doesn’t she have a job…..it has been 10 yrs since Pun died and she is not working….I know there is work somewhere….If they broke you off with royalties and publishing $$ …six figures ….back then she should have moved out of the expensive house and took some of that money and learned a trade….but NOOOO…….she wants Pun’s “industry ” friends to take care of her ….. She is what we in the know call “A DragonLady”. She’s got no ambition, no drive, just wants to sit on her ass and collect. If what Joe is saying about NO ONE making money off PUN but her, then she needs to learn to hustle his music better. I’m sure there’s some unused accapellas laying around or something. I mean with the technology we have today we can take words out of his various verses and turn them into new verses. SHE HAS TRIED TO GENERATE REVENUE USING PUN’S MUSIC BUT SHE HAS CONTINUED TO GET BLACKLISTED. ALL JOE MENTIONS IS ENDANGERED SPECIES WHICH DID NOT SELL VERY WELL. WHAT HAPPENED TO YEA BABY? THAT ALBUM WENT PLATINUM AFTER HIS DEATH.

Man, money aint shit. How is it you can give all these other people a JOB and not put her on? Money gets spent fast when in a lump sum, but being there and putting her on for the family is whats up. I’d like to see some legal documents to prove she got a few hundred grand. If that’s the case, she needs to get off her fat ass and get a job. she said she sold her house… didn’t she make some dough off of that? If he hit her off, gave her what pun was due, and severed ties with her, I don’t see anything wrong.
Its a sad reality but people die broke everyday. That wasn’t the case with pun. He had dough. He should have had something set up so her and those children were set. You never look to the next man to hold you down.
