Caster Semenya, NOW You’ve Got Some Explaining To Do….

by admin on 09/10/2009 · 23 comments

Well, we thought she was telling the truth and so did some of you, but Australia’s Daily Telegraph is reporting that runner Caster Semenya is not a woman…kinda sorta!  According to the article:

World athletics is in crisis over the gender of Caster Semenya after tests revealed the South African world champion has no womb or ovaries.  The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) is ready to disqualify Semenya from future events and advise her to have immediate surgery because her condition carries grave health risks. They have also not ruled out stripping Semenya of her 800m world championships gold medal.

Tests conducted during the world athletics championships in Berlin last month, where Semenya’s gender became the subject of heated debate following her victory in the 800m, revealed evidence she is a hermaphrodite, someone with both male and female sexual characteristics.

Semenya, 18, has three times the amount of testosterone that a “normal” female would have. According to a source closely involved with the Semenya examinations IAAF testing, which included various scans, has revealed she has internal testes – the male sexual organs which produce testosterone.

In a recent interview with South Africa’s YOU magazine which s/he covered looking girly Caster had this to say:

“I see it all as a joke, it doesn’t upset me. God made me the way I am and I accept myself. I am who I am and I’m proud of myself. I don’t want to talk about the tests – I’m not even thinking about them.”

Do you feel sorry for her or is it time for her to come clean???  Either way she’s going on Oprah….

lol @ Jpoodie clearly they just unbraided them braids and fluffed it up, but what do you expect from half a man…… (low blow)
I think she definitely knew her condition she had to, no ovaries equals no womanly monthly visit. She should get her metals taken from her. She did not come to the track as an equal competitor. I am actually pretty sad for her, but what can you do.

Too suggest that she should be stripped of her medals is absurd. She lives as a woman, has only known herself to be a woman, and if you want to be technical, she has enough female “parts” to be classed as a woman, hermaphrodite or not. There are woman, whom are completely baron, and without ovaries etc…are you all suggesting that they too should now class themselves as men. Give me a fucking break. Don’t mask your hate/ignorance with fallacy based facts.

Sir Jason is so over this nonsense.

They have no basis to their arguments, and if they do something stupid like try to strip her of her medals she will probably sue for discrimination. When a person is born a hermaphrodite they are born with both male and female organs. Some are born with a penis and ovaries (in that case a doctor may ask the parents to choose for the child and have corrective surgery by removing the penis and making the child a girl) or in the case of Caster she was born with a vagina and internal testes (testicles in the body) so it was only right that she was looked at as a female and her family saw her as a female. She ran and competed and won as a female and nobody can argue that she is not. If so then they better be ready for a lawsuit.

To Shell Bell, You are slapping women all over this country in the face. To say that because she has no ovaries she is not a woman is stupid. There are woman born all over the world without ovaries. There are women who have to have their ovaries removed due to cancer, there are women who have both breast removed because they may have had cancer. Are you saying that they are no longer considered women now? That is crazy. You need to do some research about hermaphrodites. They have to choose a gender. She has a vagina. was she suppose to choose to live like a man. Was her family suppose to treat her like a man although she has breast and a vagina and the only thing she has that is manly is testosterone and internal balls? Lets get serious.

It is sad because she cannot help that fact – she was born like that. At the same time, it is not fair to the other women on the team because they DON’T have the testosterone that she does, or the power. It is unfair all around. I am sure the IAAF is stuck between a rock and a hard place.

if her DNA is XX then biologically she’s a women, hermaphrodite or not, I think that’s what they should base the outcome on.

Well to say I don’t care is probaly not right……so let’s just say this is irrelevant to me
She has a Vagina…she is a woman…..regardless of internal testes.( although that sounds weird ) let her be….please .

I don’t know too many women named Caster, do you? Why would her mother name her daughter that? This person has no breast AT ALL, no womb, no ovaries…..chest, muscle, shoulder and arm structure of a male. The exact same jaw line as my 21 year old nephew! Triple the testosterone level of any female, internal testes. I mean even if this person was born with a genetic abnormality. Clearly they leans more toward being raised a male then female. In any event, this makes it an uneven playing field for the other women who do not possess that level of testosterone production without taking some type of drug that would disqualify them from competing and has in effect given Caster an unfair edge on the competition. It ain’t my business what she identity with or choses to be, but with that type of advantage she should not be competing against females who are 100% female. And please do not try to make the argument of women who had to have their ovaries or breast removed. That is apples to straight up oranges. Those organs actually existed for these women her is non-existence, like no where to be found. Furthermore it has not been clarified by medical professionals whether she has a “vagina” or not, only assumed. Bottomline her people knew what she was and they attempted to use her unsual genetic makeup to their advantage. Not fair.

Caster is female by GENDER and a hermaphrodite by SEX. Determining someones SEX isn’t black and white.

There was no way for her to have known that she had testes, if she had a vagina.

Not having a menstrual cycle does not mean anything, the menstrual cycle begins when females have a certain amount of body fat. Some female gymnasts don’t have periods due to this.

Caster is South African hence the fact that you haven’t heard the name before.

If a women exercises a lot and has less body fat her breast (which are mainly fat) will go away.

had caster been born a white woman, we would not have had all this controversy today. Being black is always the hypocritical excuse to be prodded and probed and especially since caster has not turn her back on her roots.

i have seen some women body builders who looked more manly than caster, so how come they aren’t screaming to disqualify these women because they look like a man and have very deep voices. I think a great injustice is being carried out right infront of our eyes.

I know this must be a very difficult time for Caster. Regards. Here privacy has really been violated. Im just kind of thinking that with all of the unfair advantages that have come up in sporting events, that this isnt the first time a gender question has arisen. This was definitely handled very badly.

Just to shed some light on the situation for everybody. The very first human was a hermaprodite or intersexed divine human being, something the the christian faith has obiterated into saying that woman came from man’s rib, which is scientifically impossible. All facts can be proven.

The first human was male and female together, evolving from a watery abyss state similar to a womb or primeval matter, able to self create ourselves because we had both male and female properties through evolution male and female seperated now spend most of their lives trying to get back together and pro-create of course.

I don’t know how to prove this to you except their is plenty of scientific evidence to prove what I have just spoken that of course is kept for the most part hidden, like Caster is hiding now, but the proof is within her.

All of this is no one’s business. However, when Caster has three times the testosterone of a female, the fact is that the person has an unfair advantage over other females. And that’s when it becomes the business of the other runners. Men runners compete only with other male runners (and not with females) for a reason.

I fault her parents and doctors for either not investigating earlier (with no ovaries, she could not ever have menstruated) or hiding what they suspected.

I think all the media and such are just overreacting. So, she’s not technically a girl. So, she won a medal that really wasn’t hers to win. But now there are claims that they gender-tested her in South Africa, and never told her the result. What’s more, her doctor was told the test findings and was recommended that she be removed from the competitions, and didn’t. So really, the media should get out of poor Caster’s space, and find out WHY the South African government refused to take her out of the competition.

And although she really shouldn’t have been in that 800m race and win that medal, she did. That medal is rightfully hers. End of story. She was not to know that she was not technically a women, so leave the poor girl alone. If I won a medal, no matter how much I didn’t fit into a catergory, if I had really run that race and done it without use of performance-inhancing drugs, if I’d tried my absolute hardest and obeyed every single rule, that medal rightfully belongs to me. Show the girl some respect.
