I’m not a fan of her anymore. She had some great hits in her day but for the past few years her music and voice has annoyed me to no end. Ever since she lost her mind and started nervously taking her clothes off on TRL back in the day, her career has went downhill and people’s perception of her was forever tainted.
Flex one, where the hell have you been? That melt down was years ago and she as released 3 for successful cds since then. One that was the most selling album of 2005.

Can’t get with mariah- she needs to start acting and dressing her age. Why the hell is a 40yr old woman dressing like she is 17 and talking about ‘why you up in my george foreman’ uggg! I need some grown folk music from her.
She should sell more than Whitney in the us cause she had a hit with obsessed andhas been in the public eye all this decade. Whitney sold 305k which is amazing because she did not havea video orhit song whenher albumdropped and she had been away so long.
I don’t think it is that amazing that WH sold that much. After all the hype was huge and the wait was long. She also left her career at her peak really (bodyguard) so there was no downfall. People still believed she had a voice even though it was gone way too soon for any singer really. Like her but her selling this much is no biggie. MJackson sold more and they still called his albums flops…go figure. MC has the disadvantage of already having her mutliple come backs so she is old news. WH has her fans waiting in the wings so her not coming out til now only got her old fans going. The album is not great by any means nor is her vocals. It was never the same after 1996. Let’s see if the debut will move to selling as much as MC’s comeback w/ Emancipation and then E=MC. I doubt it will sell that much, nor will she be able to follow it up.

it’s very obvious that gina hasn’t listened to the album b/c she wouldn’t mention her desire to hear “grown folk music” coming from Mariah.
as someone who’s listened to both albums….Mariah will have no problem selling more than Whitney. the album’s just that fuckin good. “H.A.T.E.U.” shits over any & everything Whitney croaked about on her comeback/goaway album.

to me she had more than that….she had 15 years to make a true comeback. My love if your love was fine but it ain’t the WH people really knew. I don’t think she was ever #1 album of the year since Bodyguard. So um….that makes it 16 years now come to think of it. It definately is not a comeback album. M jackson sold twice that in a day w/ “invincible” in 2000 and they considered it a flop when it sold 10 million. Go figure.

Mariah is going to surpass Whitney, “that is a given.” She writes and produces plus already pass Whitney like 6 number ones ago and 36 million records more. I love the old Whitney stuff, 4 real and the new Mariah Carey it take some time to get used to but it’s good stuff. I was so disappointed when I bought Whitney album I was like 7 year and she came out with this. Come on Mariah took like 7 months and produce and other Butterfly album. Mariah could wear what ever the fuck she wants, next time buy her a fucking dress and send it to her. “She is a singer not a fashion icon.” Music should be judge not her weight, size, color or what she is wearing maybe you have not seen what that fuck LADY GAGA is wear! How about that! So post some pictures of what the fuck you are wearing and I bet you are not any better!

The new album of Mariah Carey is very strong, very well produced. I hope that she will sell more than Whitney, she works for that. Her voice is very powerfull (see her performance on The View last week). Good Luck Mariah!
