A Fox News crew was in front of the Ed Sullivan Theater located in midtown Manhattan doing a report on the Dave Letterman scandal when they caught this incident between a cab driver and a pedicab “driver?”. The peddler is too excited and rushes in when the cab driver is able to take him down and start choking the guy before anyone steps in…but don’t worry they taped it all.
Who was wrong here???

That pedicab guy was being an asshole holding up traffic while drinking his damn coffee. The cabbie may have been wrong for trying to hit him, but the pedicab jerk swung first. Funny how fast it all happened, and how long it took the cops to show up. LOL

Without a doubt, the cabbie was wrong.
Sure, the pedi driver might have been going slow, and even though he threw his coffee at the cab, it was the cab driver who first initiates the physical altercation by crashing his car into the pedicab. Keep in mind, bicycles and pedicabs are street vehicles too. They are not allowed on sidewalks. So aside from being slow, the pedi driver was not committing a crime. Also, in this type of collision, there is no scenario where the pedicab would come out on top, or even for that matter.
None of the pedi driver’s actions warranted physical altercation. It’s NYC. And you’re a cab driver, in a car, already passing the slowpoke, and you’ve already dropped your F-bombs as you were passing him. You mean to tell me after all this, you still couldn’t handle the situation? Pathetic.
This video would EASILY support any DA’s assault charge brought against the cab driver. It would also be more than enough evidence for the pedi driver to win a lawsuit against the cabbie.
When I saw the cabbie talking to the police I was thinking “They will be putting him in handcuffs after they see the video.”

cabbie was wrong. no reason at all to hit the pedicab. then jump out of his car for an altercation. he may have been provoked by the slow pedicab however, being provoked doesn’t excuse his behavior. 2 grown men on the floor fighting in a nyc street smh.
