“He got the prize because he has been able to change the international climate. Some people say, and I understand it, isn’t it premature? Too early? Well, I’d say then that it could be too late to respond three years from now. It is now that we have the opportunity to respond — all of us,” said Nobel Committee chairman Thorbjoern Jagland.

People are already complaining about Barack’s win saying it’s way too early and how could someone who’s continuing a war in Iraq and possibly going to start a new one in Afghanistan a Peace Prize.

When the WORLD is behind you, you can’t lose….

Everybody listen to me, this is not right. Whether or not you are liberal or conservative, think about this. The votes for the prize closed 2 weeks after his inauguration, people voted on him based on what he said he WOULD do, not by what he has done, which is what the award is given for! This is a tragedy, the award has been tainted…

are you comparing what king did to what obama promised he will do?

king dreamed and obama inspired… however, to award something so big so someone based on what one hopes he can do is wrong. but the argument can be said that einstein who found the atom which eventually led to the atom bomb didnt deserve to win the prize bc what eventually came of his genius. i think time will tell if obama deserves this award…. i’m glad he actually will use this as a cause to action. the time now isnt for speeches, its time for action. and i think obama has a heaving load to carry… lets pray for his success. and a better america.

The speech he gave in Cairo on June 4th was VERY NOBLE. While most might not have either heard the speech or understood its implications, it was a huge step at repairing American relationships with the Muslim world, especially those who live in the Middle East. It not only started the mending process between Americans and Muslims it also sent a message to Israel that they cannot continue their current policies without some culpability. No sitting president has ever taken this step with either the Muslim countries in the Middle East or with Israel.

According to Alfred Nobel’s will, the Peace Prize should be awarded “to the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations…..”

THANK YOU VERY MUCH, HAVE A GREAT DAY!!
