News reporters from Denver, CO have been following a homemade air balloon device that has a 6-year old boy trapped inside. The balloon had gotten to a height of about 2000 feet in the air as law enforcement officials tried to safely bring it down. The boy’s parent’s Richard and Mayumi Heene were once contestants on ABC’s reality show Wife Swap and according to the show’s website they “devote their time to scientific experiments that include looking for extraterrestrials and building a research-gathering flying saucer to send into the eye of the storm.”
UPDATE: The balloon has safely landed, and no 6 year old boy was found inside. WTF???
UPDATE #2: CNN is reporting that “an object” was seen falling from the balloon. You can stop joking now..
UPDATE #3: He was found at home in his attic hiding in a box. We’re not kidding.

I think this was a hoax by the parents for publicity. I was really concerned about this little boy’s safety until I saw the CNN interview with Wolf Blitzer when the boy says they did it for TV. Then the daddy wouldn’t allow the boy to clarify. That’s sickening!
