The rapper was in court today (Wednesday) in New York listening to the forensic evidence being used to tie him to the gun found when his tour bus was pulled over in Columbus Circle, NY after a July 2007 concert and cops say they saw him toss the .40-caliber into a Louis Vuitton bag. The prosecution is using a highly controversial method called “low copy number DNA profiling” which takes samples of human cells of an object to determine if somebody has touched it and even how much.
More than a dozen people were originally arrested during the incident with Wayne eventually pleading not guilty to an illegal gun possession charge which he faces 3 1/2 years for. The case starts January 20th, but rumors are already swirling that Wayne will opt out of the trial, plead guilty and do about 8 months in jail which could start as early as February. What’s crazy is he also has another case scheduled to start in March over a weapon charge and felony drug possession in Arizona over a 2008 arrest.
Why is rap the only form a music where you almost expect your favorite artist to go to jail for something??? Not the bums, the GOOD ones!!!!
UPDATE: The rumors were true and Lil’ Wayne has pleaded guilty this morning to the charge and we’ll know how much time he’s getting shortly. He’s facing up to a year.

They get high on the life(and the drugs) and start feeling invinceable. Why does he need a gun on a fucking tour bus? Hire someone to hold your shit(guns, drugs, whatever) and keep a healthy distance from dude untill you need his services. When your making that kind of legit dough, stop actin like a criminal. its sad that for just having the gun you go to jail but these rappers are stupid if your on a tour buss what cost you to get a legit gun when your on tour you got money to do it that way you avoid felony charges and these rappers have to understand that when your an artist your no longer a thug o criminal you have to start acting like an artist leave your past in the past cuz fame is something that comes and go and if your spending time in court why bother to be famous?
I think it’s crazy that they are just doing something about it now!!! It happend in 2007 && another one in 2008! I mean everyone has a gun && im sure most have a permit && others that can’t aford it don’t, But a rapper needs it i mean come on if some one was fixing to hurt him or something what is he supose to do??
