If Jay-Z is the Michael Jordan of rap, then up and coming rapper and label mate Joe Buddens was to be his Harold Miner, but somewhere along the line something went wrong. Check out this clip from Joe’s daily Vlog where he talks about meeting Jay-Z to ask him to remix his hit song “Pump It Up” and Jay charging him an “astronomical number” he knew he couldn’t afford….

It’s bout time every1 got offa Jay-Z’s dilznick anyhow. Why does everyone look up to him as if he is the greatest rapper they have ever heard?? If thats the case then I assume most people dont really know the rap game…
BOO HOO everyone cries because they have to do it alone. Get successful and then people will respect you. It’s the nature of BUSINESS. Start yout own business like I did and see how many people run to help you out. In this country the opportunities are there but trust me it’s a rat race. Most of you will never understand this aspect nor get far along in life to where these problems will ever occur to you all.

There is a combination of hate and congratulations in these comments. If Budden gets mad because a man who was born in the Stuy raised in the Stuy made his career happen based off his life in the Stuy charged him (x) amount of digits to remix such an ode to flake sh.t then that’s what that man does. People don’t understand the art behind “business” Music was built off of “businessmen” if Budden thinks that “talent” alone is what gets you the bright lights, the 5 years younger wife and a whole slew of money from major investments then he needs to think again. Jay serves his mental in every song he goes hard in. Everyone thinks because Jay came outof the same borough as BIG and possibly used a few lines he’s wack. Jay looked up to a lot of cats back in the day. I take it Budden looked up to Jay and figured to put him on the remix. But because his rap game didn’t put digits in his bank account he gets mad when Jay charges what he claims to be an “astronomical number”. Some people need to learn how to do shit on their own. Jay did.a lot on his own. He takes other peoples opinions and forms his own decisions. After reading this post I think its safe to say that Joe Budden needs to step down and rethink this whole Jay “beef” because last time I heard after 50. What the f.ck is beef? Its a bunch of useless media bullspit to get attention because your lyricism sucks way beyond what you thought you were. And I’m out.

It sounds like alot people are missing the point of what he was saying all he said was he asked jay z to be on the remix and j tried to charge him an amount of money he knew he didn’t have only for him to put out a freestlye on his beat for free 2 weeks later. Then found out that J had rejected the beat in the past. If you listen to the start of the track J says buddens homies name. “Give me that beat fool its a full time jack move don’t worry skayno I’ll get back soon” If you paid attention buddens says me and my friend skayno went to holla at jayz. Its not about beef I’m guessing he was asked a question and he answered it. News flash Jay Z dick riders he doesn’t make music for you he makes music for him and his rich freinds to listen too.
I love Jay Z’s music and would consider myself a fan of the music, but as a person he’s an asshole. There’s too many of these stories with too many different people to just say that they’re just jealous and hating on him.

Just a lil insight on Joe Buddens……He’s a phony…(like most hip hop artists are), and lets just say not surprised bout him gettin herb’d in trailer few weeks back.
True Story;
I was a small time promoter/DJ back then, and hired Joe Buddens on contract for a good amount at the time ($4,500 with a 2K deposit)! @ the time he had just had “Focus” out, but we had heard his mix tape appearances and thought he was sick with it! We had booked him for a date 3 months later. By the time this date came around, “pump it up” was huge on the radio! When we checked back with him 2 weeks b4 the date, he tried to renegotiate this contract and wanted an even 15K. He then realized we were so legit with out contract that he was gonna face a serious lawsuit, and we ended up negotioting a “Rider” to the contract requesting certain bottles and foods to be in waiting area before performance costing us an additional couple hundreds. Bottom line is after all this…..his punk ass was so shook just by driving by venue, that he never came inside until he was going on stage! He never even stepped in waitin area nor touched anything in there! ON TOP OF THAT HE WAS SO NERVOUS HE PERFORMED FOR ABOUT 7 MINUTES AND RAN OUT JUST AS QUICK!!!! His own peoples was on stage tellin him to man up, and he came thru with @ least 20 heads!! The crowd noticed his fear and DESTROYED HIM!!! throwin watter bottles and things at him….it was ugly….He best never claim gangsta!!!
This was @ Club-A back then in Jamaica, Queens NYC ….
As a comparison we had Peedi Crack, Sheek Louch, and Dipset in the weeks following and the crowds were worst, but dem real Cats…and flipped it on the crowd and mad love instead!!!
I think Joey can freestyle with the best….but he a phony and cant make an album!!!!!!
BTW…what he mad about….Jay ended up doing it for free at the end….sort of…and he responded and shined…and got more love for that then he would of over a “Remix”!!! What he mad about…..cause u cant get it on “iTunes”??? $$$$$
