I believe it came out past the Grammy deadline and will be eligible next year.
WRONG.
whitney pushed her album up to be elgible for the grammy nods before the deadline.
could it be that she just fell off??
its probably because her album was entirely insipid and uninspired despite being entirely about her return to favor. I for one am glad she didnt get to just ride her name into a Grammy she didnt deserve. Her album was mediocre at best and just didnt cut it.
Maybe if they had packaged it as a gospel offering then it might have made an appearance. But alas they did not.
Her album was alright. But people are looking for that powerhouse voice to come back as well. Whitney is known for soaring gut busting vocals and until she can hit those notes again her “come back” is officially incomplete.
I can’t say I’m surprised at this news. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the album as Whitney’s comeback, but it’s not that strong for Grammy.
And Beyonce’s flub deserves 10 nomination? Absolutely NOT! The Grammy’s mean nothing. Whitney deserved nominations but the state of the music industry is such that artist like her and India Arie get ignored and artist like Beyonce and Taylor Swift get rewarded.
I am so pissed that whitney did not nominated peole complaining that her album wasnt good. You guys are crazy. To go through what she experienced and still rise up on top is a blessing. She so deserved that grammmy in so many ways. She was definately robbed. I dont think im watching the grammys this year and i hope she turns them down if they asked her to perform.
august 31st is the cutoff
As big of a Beyonce fan I am, I have a hard time believing that she garnered 10 nominations this past Tuesday, on top of her 10 Grammy’s she already has. While Whitney Houston has a meager 7 Grammy’s and received not one single nomination. I don’t even think its worth the argument of comparison but simply the acknowledgment that the Grammy academy voters care more about their ratings and status within younger demographics than the actual merit and deserving nature of the artists. Its saddening to imagine how Whitney Houston and her camp must have felt Tuesday night.
Definitely a shame that Whitney didn´t get one single nomination for her outstanding comeback album. I definitely will not watch this grammy show next year! It´s a huge dissappointment that they cut her out! And no, I don´t think that Beyonce deserved 10 Nominations. That´s ridiculous!
These academy people r crazy B got 10 nominations for what I don’t know. Whitney’s album was good she should have been nominated cause her voice is better than B even now.
