“They’re more confused than any group of people I’ve interacted with, ever.’ – 50 Cent On Interscope Records!

50 Cent is speaking out about how his record company Interscope Records promoted his last 2 albums.  Check out this excerpt from Metro.co.uk:

After building a career on being bulletproof, Fiddy came unstuck when his 2007 album release face-off with Kanye West – when he claimed he’d give up the rap game if West outsold him – didn’t work out so well.

‘Def Jam did a better job positioning Kanye West at that point,’ he concedes. ‘The entire time I’ve been at Interscope Records, they’ve been relying on my creative energy [read: feuds with other rappers] to move discs.’

Just as well latest album Before I Self Destruct, plus a greatest-hits compilation, see his obligations to Interscope completed. ‘Almost in the nick of time,’ he muses. ‘I didn’t even go to a staff meeting and play this album for them because they’re more confused than any group of people I’ve interacted with, ever.’

Do you agree with 50???

I concur, but 50 also now needs to re-invent himself like Jay did around his 4th LP instead of what DMX did around his 4th LP. Evolve the husltle! But we all know that everyone flops these days.

He will have a come back album!!….Fiddy gotta couple left in em!!….You just have to switch your style up a lil…You got Drake, Lupe, J Cole, Wale all these rappers are fresh….not talkin that gangsta ish…..Switch it up just a lil…..still do you but keep it on a certain level Fiddy!!….Your next album….maybe reunite w/ Game….do a track w/ Young Buck….Jay Z maybe…..just have Eminem or Dre on the producer tip of the album…..Put everything into it like you did your first album……You will be right back on track!!!

i’ve liked 50 from day 1 and alwayz will. Itz extremely rare 2 find an entertainer or ‘regular’ person who is alwayz so forthright and honest. I respect that-cuz i’m tha same way-2 bad more ppl ain’t.

he’s full of shit lol. A few years ago he was running around calling himself Curtis “interscope” jackson. Now, they don’t support him and people are agreeing with his dumbness? Fact is, he underestimated Kanye. He needs to realize he was just a fad, passing trend and now it’s over. He lasted what? 5-6 years? He’s a multi-millinaire. Go spend ur money and stfu.

Oh please, Fifty. The bottom line is that your MUSIC lacks creativity…forget creative energy. Aside from that, everybody’s just tired of you talking shit, talking shit about people to draw attention, and talking about the same nonsense on every album.

If you want to salvage your music career: Stfu for a couple years, make the few that still care miss you & come back with straight good music…no bullshit talk.

Lol all makes valid points. Wanna be successful again, then stop hating, make great music, do a ton of promo, be more creative and fresher, collab with different and new artists, and respect others. It’s as plain and simple as that. 150k for another artists would be pretty descent. But for him not so much! The same way he says i ended this persons career well now look at his. I bet u Jarule Rick Ross and Fat Joe is laffin there asses off. He fell off hard ! But he has a ton of money. I mean i personally would’nt have released a new album bcuz he had no buzz or anything. On the bright side his last album did go platinum, and i think this one might go gold.

I disagree wit 50.

I don’t think any type of promotion would’ve been able to sell that cd. The Jews at these record labels know how to make money. 50 is the reason why his cd didn’t do well. His big ass mouth has caused a lot of “bad will” and a lot of people want to see him fail.

50 is an arrogant hot head who got caught up in his own hype. Now he has an extremely over exaggerated view of his worth & doesn’t know when to shut tha fuck up.

He thinks he’s smart but the truth is; he’s not an Ivy league marketing & communications college graduate or expert, he’s not a savy buiness man, he’s just a lucky street nigga who struck at the right time with the right team and got paid.

The problem is no rapper can release a good album like back in the 90′s nowadays if thier life depeneded on it.

It’s always “yea yea, I’ve toook my time with this one” and it always turns out poor, it’s not just 50 either.
