Guerlain’s Limited Edition Mon Precious Nectar Fountain Imperiale (that was a breath full) fragrance retails for $9000 dollars – making it the most expensive fragrance we have come across. Neiman Marcus does a great job of telling you what your paying for:
• First, the perfect shape was designed. It was a fountain, column like with timeless, pure lines inspired by the Second Empire. And, since Guerlain omits no detail, a honeybee, the emblem of the house, was engraved in the center of the stopper.
• Then, the perfumer sought out the most beautiful crystal, and in doing so, called for the savoir-faire of the prestigious Cristallerie du Val Saint Lambert in Belgium. The destinies of the two houses bear a striking resemblance. Created in 1826, two years before Guerlain, the crystal maker built its name by becoming an official supplier to the royal courts of Europe.
• Finally, Guerlain composed “Precieux Nectar”, a new perfume of rare elegance. A subtly fruity, musky floral, this precious nectar is a perfume of which it is said, once discovered, has the makings of greatness.
