People, we all are entitled to our opinions... I believe that all of you have points that can be merited for your own exposure, and some for their research. We all only know what we are exposed to; whether given to us or searched by us. We are not direct witnesses to any these events and quite frankly none of us knows whats really going on. Otherwise, I would be making a killing reading minds and preventing catastrophes before they happen!

I believe we should collect our views and be active everyday, support all of our freedoms and fight for whats right and whats wrong in this country. We all don't agree but we can compromise and come to a conclusion that meets our needs, but not dominance over whose more right than the other. I personally have no political agendas strictly because I have no want to control individuals for their freedoms. I feel that most of our democracy is in fact streamlined to any specific point of their liking.
Policing the globe definitely needs to be removed(some people like living the way they've been). We need medical assistance; but not a free pass. We need to be educated more and take our negativity and turn it into a positive.

I used to be a violent man, full of aggression and confusion and I realized "I KNOW NOTHING" and I never will; my views and feelings were invalid because I was allowing the opposition to penetrate and submit me into violence, and thats not what I truly wanted/intended. I want to live my life without worrying about someone else; yes were in danger, but not if everyone else was on the same page. Society has created these problems and yes there's benefits, but humans that existed before bloodshed just wanted to live and love, so please... Lets live! Fuck love! What a waste of my time, I should be loving my family instead of talking to you pfDFsdf2222222222222......

This is not the J. F. Kennedy era this is the President Obama era. This is not the civil rights bill era, this is the economy has gone straight to global hell and a political system that can't agree on a health care reform. Yes, African American suffers the most, but haven't we for the last 300 to 400 years. No, one cried when Bill Clinton sold our souls to the devil with NAFTA. In the Clinton era no health care reform even materialized, and they call him the black president.

(so called) realist - Since we come from a history of being locked up(if lucky) for congregating, not getting off the side walk, speaking out, marching, looking at a white woman, then you tell me exactly when it all became fair, and black men started justly deserving to be locked up. Do you add MLK, and all the other cuvil rights activists to your list of "criminals" - oh yes you sure do since they are black.

Also, do you understand the differences in sentencing structure when it comes to getting caught with cocaine vs rock cocaine even though they are the same thing? No? oh well fuck you.

1st of all I'm not racist at all . I'm black too but for me there is a big difference between black people and niggers. Niggers have killed Malcolm X. Nigger spend their time hatin on the 1st black president, while they are doing anything with their lives, niggers say that they dont believe in politics cause they dont take the time to understand that this is exactly what cynical politicians are expecting from them.

Black people are strivers like Obama who understand that the only way to change your world is getting involved in politics

And Yes I said that Colour Purple was racist.Whe I 1st saw this movie I was 12 and seeing these clichés about black people was very humiliating for me.
I still cant understand how a black man can act in movies like that. They didnt have any respect for themselves.

Glover doesnt have any credibility for me and I think that Obama will be better without his support.

And if you think that republicans polls or article are fact you need to try again cause you are wrong.

This is his 1st year and Niggers like Glover are already ready to him on blast.Pathetic.
I bet he is on of these idiots who vote twice for Bush.

As I previously said some people are definitively lost .You cant anything for them.
Keep it moving.
I support Obama since 2005 and I will never stop to support him.
He will show them haters that he is a legend. He will be reelected and niggers will have to deal with that.

As a conclusion comparing Obama to Bush remains stupid for me and easy.
But what can you expect from someone who act in Spielberg's Racist Movies.

ps:Sorry for the grammar I'm french and I'm not in english class but on a blog comments section

Dude, you cannot educate me on anything. You are the one on this site dropping the "N" bomb like a stereo typical racist… "So this nigger who acted in the coulour purple one of the most racist movie I ever seen ..." or "I’m not american. But there is something I know about some american black people they hate themselves." These are your quotes, not mine.

I told you if you wanted to debate, cool. But I also mentioned bring some FACTS to the table and not opinions. It's very clear that the only thing you know about people of color is what you’ve seen on your TV or computer. It's also clear that you are easily influenced by what you hear and see on TV and the rest of the mainstream, corporate media. So I'd have to guess you are about... 15-16 years old judging by your spelling, attitude and personal shots at me and black folks here. See the point is you attack but you don't bring any facts to support your argument. You don’t even have an argument now that I think about it.

My initial response, to you, was due in part to your bad grammar and general lack of knowledge on the Danny Glover issue regarding his view of Obama. But now I see clearly you're just like, um... very confused. Here’s my last point. People like me are not dangerous to democracy but someone who is racist, like yourself, is a danger to everyone out here. So next time take a look in the mirror before you say something that makes no sense like “Obama has started an health care reform who will help mainly black people” Boy, what planet do YOU live on dude?

I'm not here to educate you .Especially because I dont know how old you are.
But I find your statement about politics a little bit cliché and easy.
Anyway if you dont believe in politics here is an advice for you:Read this book written by a french author called Alexis de Tocqueville "On Democracy in America"
You will understand why people like you are very very dangerous for democracy ;)

Danny Glover is not someone I really pay much attention to. He gets his money from people like Spielberg, who produced the movie that spent a lot of screen- time bashing black males . I Remember when some whites were criticizing The movie "Roots", even to the point of calling it "weeds". I wonder why they didn't criticize "The Color Purple"?

With all due respect, I am socially involved with issues that affect all of us. However I am not involved with politics and the political system. Politics is essentially a waste of time and solves nothing for the masses. Just posturing and gesturing by the elite to impersonate real change at society’s expense.

Second, Danny Glover has been a vocal advocate of MANY social issues for a very long time so again, with all due respect, you have no idea what you're talking about in regards to his social, political or ideological position. If you just took time to look up his background you’d have a better understanding of what he’s done, and doing then realize that you’re off base with your statements.

Third, just because someone black, brown, dark skinned or light skinned disagrees with Obama does not constitute jealousy or envy toward him. If you look at his track record for the year, you'll find that many of those who are vocal against his policies thus far are also the same people who voted for him to begin with. I just personally chose not to vote for him because to be honest, I didn't fall for his media hyped, over saturated, PR campaign. So if you'd like to debate me on his policies, fine. But bring facts to the table and not just some "opinion[s]" about how dissenting voices against Obama are just envious rants by some disgruntled, black citizens who wish they could be like him. And to be honest, only an idiot would want to be him in the first place.

First off I just want to say to LOLITA-"I cant blame ignorant for being ignorant but I can blame for not changing. Negro remains Negro you cant anything for them"? Seriously, you have very poor grammar and that shows that it's actually YOU who are ignorant. So to call others “ignorant” makes you a full blown hypocrite. Hell, I don’t even know what you were trying to say. It’s like missing words, misspells… whateverthef%#k?

Now onto my point, and my point is this... Danny Glover’s observations are 100% correct and valid. Even before Obama won the democratic nomination it was more than apparent that he would follow the same pattern ala Bush. He told the country that he wanted to escalate the invasion of Afghanistan and Pakistan. He told the country he wanted to preserve the "special" relationship with Israel even though the world knows how horrible they have treated the people of Gaza. He told the country that he did NOT want to impeach Bush even though the Constitution directs him and congress to do so based on the violations that were committed. He told the country that the 700 billion dollar bailout to Wall Street was necessary even though they had robbed the American people intentionally. Not to mention that he has received tons of money from special interest groups to support his campaign...etc. For those reasons and many, many more I did not vote for him.

Now since he's been in office... He has doubled the drone attacks in Pakistan which have killed many civilians. He has protected the telecom companies from prosecution for unauthorized and illegal wiretapping of innocent U. S. citizens. He refused to attend the UN Global Conference on Racism due to the fact that reparations for those of African descent would be discussed as well as the behavior of Israel's treatment of Palestinians. He refuses to end “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”, which he said he would, which continues to persecute gays for coming out in the military. He recommends Ben Bernanke for a second term although he was one of the main reasons we had a financial “meltdown” in the first place…blah, blah, blah. I could go on all day.

But just to finish up I’ll address a few points you some of you folks made.
Anonymous -“…How about we look @ or compile a list of the things he has done in his 1 year in office instead of talking about what he has not done. Everyone wants something from one man & they all want it now-seems a little “unfair”. Not unfair at all. All his followers want is for him to show them that he’s willing to do the things he said he would on the campaign trail. So far, all he has done is continue the policies of the last administration and in some cases, escalated them. NOTHING he has done domestically will help any of his supporters or anyone else in the long run. Just look at this latest health care bill for a classic example.

Realist -“…African American’s are the major contributors to the crime machine the exists within our nation. All it means is that they are doing less of it at this point in time, for one reason or another….” Wow…where do we start. Well first off, the “crime machine” that exists is called poverty. That is where most of the people in U.S. prisons come from because in a LOT of places in this country, it’s do or die to survive. Bad schools and no jobs ANYWHERE are a breeding ground for desperate acts for you, me or anyone who has to live like that day in and day out just to make it. Second, most people in prisons are there for non-violent crimes which are a majority of drug offenses. And there is no majority of blacks, Hispanics and natives here in the U.S. who are control the centalized shipping and distribution of illegal substances coming in. THAT is the real “crime machine”. So with a U.S. prison population of about 63% black, Hispanic and native it’s more than obvious that they are a target more than they are actual criminals.

blyx -“change in policies in afghanistan and iraq? what was he supposed to do – just come in and pull out troops ASAP?” Yep that’s exactly what he’s supposed to do. The U.S built and funded the Taliban in the first place back in the 80’s so it has essentially sown its own poison. Now we find out that the U.S. is paying the same Taliban to keep supply roads open in Afghanistan [http://www.thenation.com/doc/20091130/roston]while escalating the invasion by sending more troops to fight… the Taliban? How moronic is Obama and congress…seriously?

Lucy-“Obama aint done shit. I agree with Glover!” and Patrick Bateman -“Democracy and Capitalism do not work for the majority. Period.” What can I say… you’re BOTH right!-LOL

But in closing, I think Bill Hicks said it best… “I think the puppet on the right shares my beliefs. I think the puppet on the left is more to my liking. Hey, wait a minute, there's one guy holding out both puppets!" "Shut up! Go back to bed, America. Your government is in control. Here's Love Connection. Watch this and get fat and stupid. By the way, keep drinking beer, you f%#king morons."
This is where we are at in this country and that’s exactly what Danny Glover is saying. Amen

I agree with your views on the Iraq/Afghanistan war. I, too, would love to see our troops come home. I believe that our exit from the Middle East is long overdue. Hopefully, in the coming year, we will see some positive changes in that regard. That's my prayer.

At any rate, although, we might not see eye to eye on everything, I can respect your point of view. You're entitled to your opinion, like anyone else.

One more thing, before your head explodes or you shoot your computer screen. If you haven’t figured it out by now, Classism/Capitalism is the new Racism. The only color that matters now is GREEN. This Socialist/Marxist society that you all are trying to scare everyone with is an imaginary smoke screen. Money = Power, the equation is that simple. He, who has the most financial resources, is King in our society. Absolute Power corrupts absolutely. It’s the cornerstone of domination. Now, you should ask yourself; who’s in charge?

Touche, but you can't put all of the blame on the face of our nation at the time (George Bush). Sure, he made some bad decisions, but you know as well as I do that the people behind the leader of our country, at anytime, are the real ones making the strings go up and down. I am a strong supported of a capitalist system, so I don't want to get into the "former policies" argument because my stance on that is a personal one. I would say that the problems that Bush "created" were more or less situations that just happened to occur at the time of his presidency. Not all of them, some of them WERE his fault. I feel that far too often, people are quick to blame Bush for EVERYTHING. These are the uneducated people that I continue to bring up.

Yes, I was upset when the economy fell through. I feel that it's downfall happened at the perfect time for left wing supporters and the opposite for right wing. It can almost be credited for giving Obama the victory if you really think about it. The campaign became all about it once it fell. As far as the war, its another one that I am sort of on personal ground for, but I will voice this one. Originally when we went to war in Iraq and Afghanistan, I was in full support, but since then, our motives have somewhat gotten lost and it is time to come home. We were, and still are solving the problems over there and those people need our help. Once we have met their needs and they can carry themselves, I am in full support for a full-fledged return to the homeland. I hope you see some common ground now between us HNIC, nothing personal. You have some good points.
