We were under the impression that Simon Cowell was going to stay on American Idol after renegotiating his contract, but per Ryan Seacrest on twitter – this will be his last season on the hit show. Cowell will continue to develop and work on the American version of X-Factor, which Paula Abdul is rumored to be a judge on.
