According to the NY Post the Jersey Shore cast wants to be paid $10,000 per episode going forward – a nice raise from the couple of hundreds they are being paid now. Their season finale show was viewed by 4.8 million fans, so maybe a raise is in order. Who knows?

If you think about it… they kind of deserve it. They pulled MTV reality tv out of the dumps and got them international coverage [i know they talked about the show in south america].
They pay them ditzy non acting “The Hills” chicks over 70,000$ an episode and I doubt it’s as entertaining as Jersey Shore was.
MTV should also think… A Jersey Shore 2 without that same cast won’t work as well because it is going to seem unoriginal like the RW and RR does now… aren’t they on like season 22 of those shows… and how many people watch?
Basically, I say give them they money.
I doubt they will get a raise. All them kids are replaceable. Heh, its a thousand Italians in Staten Island clubbing every weekend.
I agree. Love the crew but I think they should roll with some new people.
thelifefiles been slackin lately posting bullshit about this irrelevant show and not once speak of the awards given out to the real actors that were being acknowledged this weekend?
MTV should definitely pay them to come back for a 2nd season!
I didn’t see the show. Was it good?
It was stupid. Every show seemed to be like the last. Tanning, working out, going out to the club and then going home to f$#k. Maybe a fight or two. Just plain old stupid.
This news seems to be wrong!!!!
Read what TMZ says:
Sources tell TMZ the network has told the cast if they don’t accept MTV’s deal by the end of business Monday, they will be replaced. And, MTV has told them it does not have to be a package deal — the cast members who accept the offer will stay … those who do not can have a nice life.
As we first reported, MTV offered each cast member a $10,000 signing bonus and $5,000 per episode. We’re told the cast rejected the offer and made it clear they would all stand together and hold out for their price, though they didn’t say what it was.
MTV made a new offer of $10,000 an episode — there are 12 episodes in the new season — but so far the cast hasn’t responded.
We’re told MTV already has replacements if Snooki, Pauly D, The Situation and the others don’t accept the offer on Monday. But, we’re told, MTV is happy to mix and match if some of the cast accepts the offer and other don’t.
As for who’s being the most hard-headed in the negotiations — The Situation and Pauly D.

that’s crazy.
Fox News and TMZ are owned by the same people? It’s allll B.S. folks.
trashy sells
Well when u consider how high there ratings have been they actually deserve more, They have the highest rated show on mtv in a long time. People on the Hills make about 45 50 70 and 100k so 10k for these kids are nothing at all, Snookie is like the breakout star tho.
The are all a bunch of douchebags but the definately deserve the money. It would cost MTV $910,000 to pay them what they want (if you dont count the bitch they kicked off early on). That’s a small price to pay for the 4.2 million people that tuned in for the finale. Stop being cheap!
Yea, came to say that this post was wrong.
I am a 36 yr old female that can’t get enough of the show. What they portray or don’t doesn’t really matter b/c they’re not campaigning to be President. When the world is full of all that it is, slipping into the “reality” of others is nice. I LOVE the show & say bring it on
