Did Lil’ Wayne Have To Be Going To Jail To Get A ‘Rolling Stone’ Cover?

Lil’ Wayne graces the latest issue of Rolling Stone magazine out today….  Quick excerpt from the article reads:

I don’t like to stop,” Wayne tells RS‘ Chris Norris. “I believe you stop when you die.” So in the weeks before he reports to Rikers Island, Wayne is keeping busy — recording tracks bound for Tha Carter IV (the album Cash Money staffers call “C4″ because it’ll be the bomb), shooting videos with his Young Money protégés, spending time with his growing family, and deliberately not asking anyone for advice about life on the inside. “This is Lil Wayne going to jail. Nobody I can talk to can tell me what that’s like,” he says. “I just say I’m looking forward to it.”

This is his second cover with Rolling Stone and apparently they couldnt fit time in for a photo shoot because its obviously an alternate pic from when he was on the cover before….(he’s wearing the same exact pants and hat)

please, I’m sure he’ll get special celebrity treatment like they all do. He’ll be put in a cell all by himself and probably wont even have to interact with the other prisoners!!

I am truly sick of him, alll of his performances are always ghetto and tacky, i like some of his music, but he is over bearing sometimes. It’s like chill dude, you’ve been making music back to back to back, he’s like the hiphop version of Beyonce. He needs a break, and the cover for Rollingstone looks like the cover of XXL. When u reach a certain status u can be u but do it with class. They were all on the grammys cursing and jumping around looking like idiots, no wonder people don’t take the rap game seriously anymore. He also needs a break from the music scene.

yea this wasnt his first time on the cover.

and what do you expect wayne to say about jail? “im NOT looking forward to it”? who does? its gonna happen so you just gotta be prepared no sense in worring. what will be will be.
i had to do 24hrs for my dui and even tho i didnt want to do it there was nothing i could do to make it better, go away or anything. just had to be prepared and i looked forward to getting it over with ya digg?

i know that the majority of music listeners don’t really “jock” their favorite artists like back in the day, but i think it’s important for wayne to give off the impression that this situation doesn’t phase him, for both his organization and his fans. I think he’s done a lot to open up the door for the other Young Money artists, and i’m pretty sure they’ll all hold it down when it comes to continuously having hits on the charts [while he's gone]. In regards to the rap game, hell, the way any rapper presents himself will have an effect on their business… but they’re still all making bank, so why be un-original when it’s not beneficial? The game is changing… and the longer it takes all these other businesses that are effected, the less beneficial it will be for them. If people looking at the fact that wayne wearing a flag on a cover for a magazine is all bad, think again. Hell, magazine companies aren’t making $ like they used to. Styles are becoming more and more accepted in the U.S. whether people like it or not.
