In why don’t they just include all this stuff in the price of the ticket news…. American joins Jet Blue and US Airways as the other airlines that will charge you for a pillow and blanket, after they’ve charged you for your bag and before they charge you for a cold egg salad burrito, here’s what you’ll get:

American Airlines: A blue fleece blanket, an inflatable neck pillow and a coupon good for $10 off a Bed Bath & Beyond purchase of at least $30.

US Airways: A 34- x 60-inch fleece blanket, a soft-to-the-touch inflatable neck pillow, eye shades and foam ear plugs inside a reusable fleece drawstring bag plus a $10 coupon for SkyMall purchases.

Jet Blue: Created a “World’s Cleanest travel pillow and blanket kit” which includes a $5 coupon for Bed Bath & Beyond purchases.

And if you’re flying Southwest bring your cable knit sweater and long johns because the company has gotten rid of blankets all together over fears of H1N1. You pay……or you die!

I don’t mind paying for a new, unused, clean pillow…but then again I also don’t mind bringing my own!
