The song ‘Forever young’ is like Beyoncé to me, I don’t ever want to see it touched by YOU, Mr. Carter!

I agree with Jay on this one. When I heard they were re-doing ‘we are the world’ the only thing that came to mind was ‘why’.

MAYBE because the song’s gonna make another shitload of money for Haiti which is a good thing???

Haiti will still get a shitload of money with or without this song. And I also wouldn’t be surprised if this song doesn’t do a thing. It definitely isn’t going to have as much of an impact as the original.

MJ is the man. His music will last the next 500 years minimum.

Gladys Knight could have sang that shiznit by herself! Wyclef sounding like he can’t get a poop out his ass and mouth. Ignorance all around. Wackest shit me and HIllary ever heard. Stop that, Quincy, Stop That!

I’m sorry but this comment was really stupid from Jay-Z
Jay-Z is a coward.I’m a fan but I got to admit that he is a coward.
Dissing a charity song?Really Jay-Z?Just because his publicity stunt with Bono & Rih flopped?
I’m disapointed. This is the 1st time I See someone dissing a charity song.
Jay-Z lost his credibility right here.
And by the way he shouldnt have touched me & my girlfriend by Pac too…it was cocky from him.

Did you listen to his comment or are you just taking out of your ass. Here are his comment below.
“I know everybody is gonna take this wrong: ‘We Are the World,’ I love it, and I understand the point and think it’s great. But I think ‘We Are the World’ is like [Michael Jackson's] ‘Thriller’ to me. I don’t ever wanna see it touched. I’m a fan of music. I know the plight and everything that’s going on in Haiti. I applaud the efforts: [Millions have been raised] through text [donations] to Haiti. So I appreciate the efforts and everything, but ‘We are the World’ is [musically] untouchable like ‘Thriller’ is untouchable. Some things are just untouchable. It was a valiant effort, but for me, it’s gonna be untouchable.”

He didn’t diss the song or the point behind the song.But face it the remake was fucking horrible, Auto tune ???? really fucking autotune you have go to be kidding me.Where are the artist like Aretha, Anita baker, Whitney, Mariah, Brian Mcknight where these artist.You telling me they could not come any harder than T-PAIN & LIL WAYNE .IF THEY HAD LIL WAYNE THERE, I WOULD HAVE RATHER CHRIS BROWN ON THE FUCKING SONG THAN HIS MONKEY ASS. GET A NEW PAIR OF EARS OR GO BACK TO SCHOOL AND DO ENGLISH REASONING, SOMETHING CAUSE YOU CLEARLY HAVE A PROBLEM.

loita your an idiot!! anyone with ears can hear that this song is beyond ass!! all the money they spent on putting this song together they should have just gave to charity, hell id rather just give my money to charity than have to ever listen to this remake again. even re-releaseing the original would have been better than this.

My thoughts exactly. The song should have no bearing on what we give to support the people of Haiti. Why the hell do people think that you have to “GET” something in return for what you give. Twenty-five years ago, we didn’t have this many media outlets to spread the word of what the people of Africa were enduring, so the song was made to raise awareness. Today, we are inundated with reminders, so that terrible remake wasn’t necessary. It was a nice gesture by that group to give of their time, but in reality, it was a concept that sounded good on paper that isn’t going to have the impact that they might expect.

Wher id i said that I thinks that the song was great?
Nowhere I said that Jay-Z souldnt have dissed publicy a charity song .
This is disgusting and coward.
And we all know that he did this just because his OWN charity song was a flop and he knew that this remake wont give him the publicity he wants for his album. This sucks
his statement was desperate and easy. You can be an asshole but dissing a charity song? Really Jay-Z?
I’m disapointed this is it

get a grip the song is shi*, he aint got no agenda he dont need to have a sucessfull charity song he is the most successful rapper alive, the song is just crap, they made a mistake here, those celebs should just have donated to charity instead of ruining a classic, simple

Lolita 02/15/2010 at 11:47 AM

The most successfull rapper is EMINEM 90 MILLIONS ALBUMS SOLD ROUND THE WORLD

Yes they shouldn’t have remake this one but someone as powerful as Jay shouldn’t have dissed it publicy cause his own charity song was a flop. This is only point

SAM 02/15/2010 at 12:27 PM

His charity song did not flop it was number one on Itunes, in 8 countries, It serve it’s purpose and raise money for Haiti.If you are going to talk ass please get your facts straight.The entrie project he did with the other artist made 57 million, that’s not a flop.
Calling him a coward is ignorant of you cause from the looks of it everyone said the same thing on twitter and around the world when they realease the remake that it was a fucking horible mess they did to the song. I’m sure other atrist said the same thing ,but he is the only one who was first with balls to say it out loud and I commend him for saying what others were and are thinking.

Danni 02/15/2010 at 12:40 PM

If you’re only counting how many albums sold than you really don’t know anything about the music business. And Jay-Z is the only relevant rapper in the game right now.

Lolita 02/15/2010 at 12:49 PM

@SAM

give me your source and I will believe you.
It was number 1 in the US for 6 hours right after him Justin Timberlake take the spotlight .

@I’m not only count albums I also count the fact that Emimen WIN AN OSCAR. His move 8 MILES WAS A BLOCKBUSTER.
Can’t lie I’m more a jay fan than Eminem but Eminem is the most successful ALIVE.
Eminem sold his wacky album without no promotion while Jay Z was seeing everywhere witth Rihanna & Alicia Keys.
Cause we both know that Rihanna & Alicia Keys killed Jay on his own song and make them relevant
look @ onthenextone this song is a huge flop cause no one was there to help me.
Eminem was the artist of the decade.
As Jay Z would say “men lie women lie numbers dont’
and Em’ got numbers for him
Hate it or love it.
Jay z is still my favorite.But he dont compete with Eminem. He is a fucking legend

ALLERGICtoBULLSHIT 02/15/2010 at 10:53 PM

@Lolita
just so you know, at least half of eminem’s 90 million albums were actually distributed as a pop album and not a rap album (ask eminem he even had to complain)… so i guess that makes him the most successful “PAPPER”

@Lolita(again)
“and Em’ got numbers for him”… what numbers are we talking about? most number one albums? net worth? most numbers of awards?(you talked about oscars, you should talk about other awards too)….

Godess 02/15/2010 at 2:01 PM

Jay definitely has a good point. I think that their intentions were admirable, but, ultimately, that song was better off left alone. If they wanted to make a “We Are The World”-esque song, then they should’ve made an entirely new song a la “Stranded”. Overall, I can appreciate the sentiment that they tried to convey & the revenue that it will generate on Haiti’s behalf.

If you were around to see the first one, you would not be able to see the point in having a remake – especially with the likes of Lil Wayne. What can he do to match the greatness of the original?
