Is Allen Iverson Done With Basketball???

by admin on 02/23/2010 · 6 comments

We may have just seen the end of one of the original NBA bad boys with his cornrows and tattoos, the AP reports A.I. is taking a leave with no sign of return:

The Sixers announced yesterday that Iverson will not be with the team for the remaining three games on its West Coast swing and that he will be away from the team indefinitely after that for personal reasons.

A source familiar with the situations of Iverson and the Sixers said that, in this case, “indefinitely,” could mean the remainder of the season.

”The team is concerned about the distraction this could bring, but everyone understands it’s most important for Allen to take care of his family,” the source said.

Iverson’s 4-year daughter, Messiah, is suffering from an undisclosed illness that kept Iverson away from the team for five games before the All-Star break. Iverson returned for three games following the hiatus, but informed the team after Saturday’s loss in Chicago that he was leaving to again be with his family.

Do you think Allen Iverson still has some basketball in him???

Who remembers the two A.I./Jadakiss commercials advertising The Answer sneakers? And in ‘Part 2′ Iverson has a rap verse of his own? So gangsta! A.I. is the man!

“2K3, i rock the A6, my new kicks. Take a few shots? It ain’t nothin-I’m used to it….”

boy got some game left. Iverson is my favorite basketball player of all time up there with Michael Jordan. I watched his last game against the Bulls and I hope its not the last time I see him play. Its not the same old Iverson scoring 30 a night but he can still help some teams win. I hope he ain’t done yet and someone gives him a chance. Hopefully his daughter gets healthy and that gets taken care of then he comes back to the game.

*tears* Yes he does have some basketball in him. A LOT still left! He’s my favourite player and I’m never giving up hope. I truly hate what has happened to him since he left Philly and I hope that his daughter gets better and everything can turn around for him. I’m not throwing in his towel. He never gave up on the game so there’s no reason for me to give up on him.
