It’s like the horizontal bar, but not….

Ania Przeplasko, the founder of the International Pole Dancing Fitness Association and others are pushing for the “sport” which definitely takes some strength and agility to be approved by the Olympic committee just in time for the 2012 Olympics in London.  The group cites sports like tug or war, the Equestrian evens and curling as past/current Olympic sports that nobody care about but still get airtime.

One of Finland’s top pole dancing teachers had this to say to the AP “I think getting in the Olympics would be great for the sport.  I actually see a lot of similarities in what pole dancing is now for women with what skateboarding used to be for men back in the day. Pole dancing is definitely on its way to becoming a mainstream sport.”

We know this would be ratings booster, but do you think pole dancing should be made an Olympic sport considering softball, baseball and cricket all failed to make the cut?  Ask your boss while you watch the video above of the 2009 World Pole Dancing Championship winner Felix….

“dancing” ?!
