White House Social Secretary Desiree Rogers Resigning In March!

by admin on 02/26/2010 · 7 comments

After a little over a year – Desiree Rogers has announced that she will resign from her post as the White House Social Secretary next month.  Rogers came under fire when the now infamous White House crashers the Salahi’s entered a White House state dinner party late last year that they were not invited too.  In an interview with the Chicago Sun Times Desiree gave this statement:

“When I took on this assignment, we talked about the importance of creating the people’s house. My work was really to create this framework. I think I completed that work. Our office has been able to lay the foundation for what will be known as the ‘people’s house’ and it has already taken shape.”

In clear english, she’s saying, “someone had to take the fall for the white house intrusion.” Many individuals felt someone had to be reprimanded besides the head of the Secret Service and practically asked for the resignation of Mrs Rogers. When something catastrophic occurs under the leadership of the president, to save face for the president, it’s the political norm for someone inside to resign.

I’m actually surprised it took this long. She didn’t want to leave…she had to.

The release of an employee inside the whitehouse during a breach of security isn’t the doing of Obama. This is what is supposed to happen when something is alerted to the public inside the Whitehouse. Sad person involve as CNN put it during the intrusion of the Whitehouse, should bow out gracefully. They compared it to other presidents and stated employees who truly cared for the president, would do what’s best for the candidate and resign with grace. Something occurred under her watch that shouldn’t have and she is doing what’s called for in such a matter…resign.

This isn’t about Obama, Bush, Clinton, etc…this is about someone not performing effectively and taking the route of resigning due to the negative effects it unleashed on Barack. He actually sheltered her from a congressional hearing so he as you put it, “had her back.” The only person who showed up was the head of secret services…but Desiree definitely should’ve been there with him. Obama did nothing wrong here

this is unfortunate, but I definitely don’t blame the Obama’s. as White House Social Secretary (a.k.a. lead event planner) it is your responsiblity (and that of security–especially in this case) to make sure everything is under control at events. the president’s safety was comprimised. plain and simple. if they didn’t react it would send the wrong message to other crazies.

in the end, we’re all human.

she definitely had my dream job. LOL! but this woman has an impressive resume, so there’s doubt she’ll bounce back.
