In regards to President Obama’s failed healthcare policy bill – Dan Rather had this to say on the Chris Matthews show:

He couldn’t sell watermelons if uh, you gave him the state troopers to flag down the traffic.”

Do you agree…. or is he full of hot air?

I actually saw that… not sure what to think about it though.

Health Care still seems to be the topic instead of the economy and jobs I see…

I never understood why black people get offended when someone makes a comment about our love for fried chicken and watermelon….big fucking deal. Fried chicken is the shit and so is watermelon. I don’t mind being associated with 2 unbelievably delicious foods….wtf people getting offended for.

Out of all the words he could’ve chosen for his allegorical reference, he picked “watermelon”? Damn dan, don’t do that dude!

Agree, Obama is the worst President ever.
People feel like they can’t criticize him because he’s black (Actually only 6%) and because he brought such a positive message of change to the table.

Obama hasn’t done anything that he promised:
1)Hasn’t closed Guantonomo
2) Has sent more troops to war than Bush!!!!!!!
3) Is trying to push healthcare through, evern though the mass majority apposes it!!!! (That’s called Tyranny folks)
4) Is attempting to abolish the 1st and 2nd amendments(Free Speech and the Right to bare Arms) Seriously, he’s even trying to censor the internet.

WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!!!!

The vast majority of citizens within the United States Do Not oppose Healthcare reform…they oppose the idea of what’s being fed to them. you ask the average American to explain what the Healthcare Reform consists of and you’ll get a blank stare. The reform is actually not a horrible idea; if both sides were to mend their views and get to the basic of government and govern for the people that is. Republicans will not budge and it seems they have a rather stronghold mentally on those who don’t consistently follow politics but every once in a while gather information from Fox News, misguided newspaper headlines and then figure they’re experienced politicians; sorry but it takes more than a random visit to Capitol Hill to give insight on politics and bills displayed in a newspaper headline. The American public does want Healthcare…just not the cost nor the current bill in its entirety.

The easiest persuaders are those who follow blindly. Is his Healthcare Reform perfect? No it isn’t. Would it be more beneficial if both parties worked together as opposed to utilizing campaign strategies to shortchange the policies of the other party? Yes it would. Individuals are more concerned about re-election as opposed to getting anything done, so anyone who actually feels Republicans have their best interest at heart due to negating any bill being established by the Democratic Party…think again.

As for Obama sending more troops in one year than Bush did in 8…your numbers are a bit fabricated to say the least.

As for Guantanamo Bay…hmm, you do understand why he can’t simply “close” the place without the approval of Cuba due to the treaty from their first President was signed? You do understand Castro personally has the checks without any intentions to cash them, thus negating any ability of the area from being “closed?”

Are you referring to the matter of freedom of speech in relation to religion?

how can you be 6% black. i agree that he’s not the best president but what does race have to do with it. more so, what is race? he identifies as black, he was raised viewed as black, his wife and kids are black…. so how do you turn that around and say hes only 6% black? if we all went and got dna test we would be broken down to percentages too. but what does it matter?

OMG Jai pure,
Seriously, don’t ever speak or write ANYTHING again.
“How can you be 6% black?” lol, you really are an uneducated person aren’t you!!! Sad really. hahahahaahhahaahaahhhahahhhaha

What an idiot. it’s called genetics 101

like some one said if he wasnt president and he was pulled over by cops they are not going to say you are 6% black. don’t ever call me uneducated. educate yourself. race is construct. and really doesnt matter. he identifies as a african american. please go find a hole and crawl into it. talk about the issues not his race. debate me on that and lets see who is the uneducated person.

NASA_SUPERSTAR 03/09/2010 at 12:26 AM

Yep, I agree with Dan Rather. And Shwaze, you are a smart and informed man, unlike most of the people who visit the Life files, who will stand by Obama no matter what. They care more about race and pride, (he’s more white than black, sorry guys) than they do about country. Sad, and pathetic, truly.

simone 03/09/2010 at 1:22 AM

“He’s more white than black?” You sound stupid!!! Firstly, it’s VERY well known that the genes of a Black/African person is much more dominant than any other gene on this earth honey; hence the reason we were the FIRST humans to walk this earth. Therefore, we are ALL of African descent so be happy honey and celebrate your ethnicity!!! Also, it kills me when White Americans actually want to “claim” a black man ha-ha…. If he were an average person in America and not the POTUS and was driving and pulled over by the police, do you honestly think they would describe him as 6% black? ha-ha…. I think NOT! He’d be just another black man in America….. That’s the way it is in this country and until you walk in the shoes of any black person in America, STFU! What? You think that just because he’s so smart that he’s more white than black?

Reply

Jai_Pure 03/09/2010 at 4:48 AM

how is he more white than black? his mother was white, his father was black… his father was raised african, his mother was raised kansian (from kansas, i just made that up haha) but still my question is what is race? it really doesnt matter what ppl categorize him as. he is black and white. he celebrates both sides of his ancestry. why then are we debating the issue of his race?

Because ignorance regardless of the topic, seems to always seep through the cracks when a conversation arises. Why we are stuck on this black/white notion is beyond me. When i speak of Obama…i see Presidential features first; not his ethnic background or skin tone. But if you roll the dice and view comments posted on blogs…people immediately assume positive statements in regards to Obama equates to said poster being black.

Vice-Versa, if the comments are negative, said person is perceived to be Caucasian…funny because there are so many ethnic backgrounds on Earth and yet we are stagnant on this notion only Black/White exists…furthermore, ethnicity in itself seems to become the topic of discussion as opposed to the actual topic.

Silly, but it’s the way life is and with blogs as an outlet, the sheep are free to roam in the pasture.

For MBA:

Number one, you have completely tried to justify and rationalize your way out of the fact that everything that I wrote is true.
I am not here to read your excuses, just admit it, Obama’s campaign was made on promises…all of which he failed to keep.
And regarding the war…..fabrication? Lol, WTF are you talking about? It’s public information! There are more US troops in the middle east now, then when Bush was in office! Like I said….WAKE UP!!!!!

Reply

esse 03/09/2010 at 3:16 AM

honestly, we and everyone else on the internet could bicker and bicker and no one would ever win, creating a reciprocated trend in comment sections throughout the internet. HOWEVER, I do understand both sides of your argument and MBA’s argument. One thing is for sure, yes, there are more troops in the “middle east” but take this into consideration. Bush got us in this situation. We can’t simply just leave now, we’re in WAY too deep to do that. Obama deployed more troops to help alleviate the situation and of course you could say there are more troops than the Bush era because its all the troop BUSH sent + what obama has done. So yeah, there is MORE but the amount Bush has sent far exceeds the amount Obama has deployed.

As far as the promises… you know that’s presidential speal right? Mccain made promises too but he wouldnt have kept them either. AND Obama is just one man, he cant just “change” the world. Things have to pass in congress and signatures need to be obtained. HE cant just change things, POLITICIANS can.

And you do understand that it has only been a little over a year since he’s been in office right? Things cannot just change overnight. To get us out of the mess we’re in, it’s going to take YEARS, especially after the POLITICIANS during the BUSH ERA got us in this deep.

I choose to be unbiased in comments, just leaving stuff to think about. It would be ignorance to dismiss the other side and not take ALL of the details into consideration.

In regards to Shwaze and NASA

“Number one, you have completely tried to justify and rationalize your way out of the fact that everything that I wrote is true.”

Sorry but I would love to see government documents to back up your so-called facts. You easily do not grasp the Guantanamo Bay matter and in that stance alone, everything you said comes into question. So instead of saying your wording is factual…I would be satisfied if you stood by your statement and said it was simply your opinion.

I don’t “take sides.” Not once through my initial comment did I come across as a blind Obama supporter…or supporter for that matter. I simply replied to the comments stated by Shwaze. I’ve noticed in your comments, you’re as one sided as a two headed quarter. I try to bring both sides of the argument and not appear in a bias light. This isn’t pro-Obama or Anti-Bush…I could careless to take sides. I’m more concerned with those who blindly spit negativity at Obama or anyone for that matter when a majority of their explanation is based on fabrication and opinion. I don’t denounce an individual having an opinion, but the moment someone depicts their opinion as fact, it diminishes the statement.

And it appears without waste, the skin tone/color/”Race” comes into play. You don’t have the ability to decipher via comment whether I’m Hispanic, Korean or Native American. It’s truly said to hear and read, if you don’t agree with someone, they begin utilizing the race card. Utterly disgusting!

How about you two…as you say; “Wake Up?”

whoa buddy… i was actually supporting you…. funny how written comments over the internet get taken so far out of context. (AS I STATED IN THE FIRST SENTENCE OF MY FIRST COMMENT) The bickering will never end. I apologize if I offended you or anyone else, was just attempting to be a mediator.

sheesh… i’ll refrain from commenting from now on…

MBA 03/09/2010 at 12:19 PM

LoL…no worries, I definitely wasn’t referencing you in my above comment.

No need to mediate; the internet blogs are for entertainment purposes only with me. Without a face-to-face, never having a lengthy past to understand ones motives/beliefs, etc; I take everything with a grain of salt. Nonetheless, political talk on blogs remain amusing to me; which is why I participate. You can’t imagine the vast differences people project when the topic of politics is meshed with ethnic background, sexual orientation, gender, etc.

NASA_SUPERSTAR 03/09/2010 at 2:47 AM

It’s just impossible trying to get through to you people. I’ve nearly given up. Truly a sad thing to witness the minorities in America giving so much glory a man, simply because he is their “history maker”. Trust me, this is not history you want to see, his agenda is FAR from what is best for our country. Like Schwaze said, WAKE UP!

Reply

Jai_Pure 03/09/2010 at 4:56 AM

why are you attacking minorities? is it wrong to feel pride? i agree some ppl are blind to his politics but to imply that it is wrong to feel pride that he won, that he got his message through and the american people chose to place him into office is unfair. moreover, to generalize and claim only minorities feel pride is wrong. i know a lot of white, hispanic, asian, european people that feel the same pride as black people. my point is, yes hes black. lets move forward from that. and if someone supports him lets not assume they are doing so based just on his race… maybe they really do agree with his politics. and they have the right to do so.

Came back to add that you don’t have to LIKE him as a man or even the President, however, he should be respected as our President. The way that politicos are publicly disrespecting him shows the deeper seed of RACISM as opposed to simply not agreeing.

When the people are scared of their Government, there’s tyranny,
When the government is scared of the people, it’s called Liberty.

WOW!!!! schwaze, you telling people to get their heads out of the sand? and you sit on your ass and watch fox news and call yourself educated? I find it insane how harsh americans are being on Obama. Consterviately speaking more than half of american voters are racist, some by choice, some because of their parents, and some dont even know why. Obama has been elected president in the information media age, OH and the WORST possible time to take on the presidency of the USA. the fact that people are calling him a bad president is appauling, why is he bad? hes black? hes not doing what he promised because congress beat his healthcare bill down so bad its nothing of what he promised during the campaign. You think he doesnt put in enough effort? probably works double the hours George W. did…if not more. As for Gitmo, its not even Obamas decision, it was one of the first bills he signed as president and everyone seems to forget that. It will not close because senior military officials at gitmo bay say, there is too much in limbo and too many “crucial” prisoners to just shut it down.

Shwaze 03/10/2010 at 2:21 AM

Wow….Mac, where to start with you???

#1. If you actually knew what you were talking about, you would know that I don’t watch Fox News….why? Because my stance is not right wing, or left. I am an independent, and a constitutionalist.
Being an educated black man, I feel that I have every right to criticize a man who has not held on to one of his promises since being elected into office.

All you have done is make excuses for him…. I wish I had a person like you in my corner, I could lie, and push my own socialist agenda, and you would just make excuses for me! It would be perfect!
You claim that he can’t close Guantanamo? Then why did he promise it in his election? Liar
He said he was going to pull troops? There are more troops in Afganistan and Iraq now, than when Bush was in office. Liar
Healthcare….even though the majority opposes it, he’s acting like a tyrant and pushing it through? I thought this was a democracy!!!!

Wake up!!! People in this country are to stupid to actually follow what’s going on, and to afraid to criticize him BECAUSE he’s black! Don’t you get it?? Don’t you realize that CNN and Fox only push what is on their agendas?
And I didn’t even touch upon Climate-gate. UN scientists have admitted that global warming is a hoax, and Obama is still trying to push through a carbon tax!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WAKE UP!!!!!!!
