For some reason I’ve never been able to take morbidly obese rappers seriously….Biggie, Fat Joe, Pun, Rick Ross, Heavy D….none of them…

actually, Big himself said that he was going to quit the MC game by the year 2000 as far as making albums is concerned. He wanted to run a label like Diddy. He would have been successful too. He’s smarter than the average dude that is doing it now. And yes, it’s true; Jay wouldn’t be where he is with Big still in the game. Because for Jay, it all started with Brooklyn and New York in general. Biggie would still be the King of NY (Hell, King of Hip-Hop) and Jay would be a Jadakiss type of an MC at best; never being able to expose himself outside of NY. Anyway, RIP BIG. Favorite tracks from him are “I Got a Story to Tell” and “Me and My Bitch.”

The chain reaction of the success of many of the top selling artists including Eminem and Nelly would have been altered catastrophically sans the deaths of B.I.G., Big L (the REAL Jay-Z) and Pac… B.I.G. Surely would have gone Pop, but would have still been a lyrical treat on the ultimate return to gangsta after he escaped Puffs pop gestapo. I think the LOX would have been more prominent… I think his voice and verses would have carried many tracks further than they went without him, changing the face again.
There is too much involved in speculating what if… too many facets of reconciliation. he simply wasn’t meant to be here. The game would be completely different.
At least Pac is still with us in spirit, he’s obviously takin the form of “Mega” on this blog.
