Honestly even though I could give a shit about essence and wish someone would abolish Jet like slavery, but I am glad that these black publications are able to get major blacks to cover thier magazines. The Michelle Obama’s the Zoe’s, The Beyonce’s, I’m happy these people still support the publications who support us!
PS
I would slam that Zoe’s na’vi until she turned blue for real!!! I got something i’d plug right into her!!!
“I would slam that Zoe’s na’vi until she turned blue for real!!! I got something i’d plug right into her!!!”
DEAD! LMAO
Sexiest borderline anorexic chick in the game (ever since “Drumline”), especially now after this interview! I’d eat her alive. She’s so beautiful & talented. Plus, she’s from my country. TE DESEO, ZOE!
she is so damn sexy…………..youtube aftah sum living with the devil
so many will miss the point(s) – there fore i’ll speak on it/them:
1) feeling that way is fine…however, stating it in a publication is not a wise decision!…based on the FACT that throughout her various roles she’d been able to shed the whole “black actresses are chosen for their sex appeal over their acting talent” stereotype…NOW, when she’s on the brink of superstardom she’ll start to be reverred to as the young, HOT actress rather than the young, TALENTED actress…which is sad and does absolutely nothing for racial/gender equality.
2) one solid glance at the other “highlights” on the cover of the magazine sends a very desperate image of today’s black woman…”the best foundations for our skin tone;” “black men and white women…JILL SCOTT on why it still hurts;” and “confessions of an NBA wife: Shaunie O’neal tells BLAH, BLAH, BLAH”
now before people jump the gun i’m not saying that this “desperate image” is inclusive of ALL black women BUT this is a NATIONAL publication AIMED at black women…and THIS is the crap that’s being discussed?!
Ummm… It’s a magazine, they need shock to sell issues, what do you want them to have on the cover a picture of Rosa Parks’ 99th birthday party… with the highlights being, which color scarf can tie your weave and finger waves down at night, why black men adore thier gorgeous black queens, Jill Scott on being fat and why she thinks being a big black woman is peaches and cream, then she picks up a bowl of peaches and cream and eats it during the interview… Confessions of a perfect husbands wife… “He loves me, buys me things, and doesn’t even ask me to blow him or suck his balls!!!” WAKE UP!!! They need readership… I noticed you did leave out the part about Foods to help you live longer, or ways to save money, and ways to take over your life (all the positive things…) Your just a negative hateful chic whose mad Zoe is a powerful women who isn’t scared to discuss sex, something everyone has!!! Hey guess what your momma was f*ckin’ your daddy… that’s how you got here!!! Stop being so uptight and negative!!!
first off, i’m a grown man!…an educated one w/ a daughter who i worry about everyday being misinformed by the man-made ills of this world – to make her believe that she’s less of the blessing that she is!…people read positive stuff all the time…in fact, they search out positive things to include in their lives in order to shed some light on all the dark/negative things going on in the world everyday…readership is one thing but how about maintaining a sense of obligation to display your people or the people the magazine cater’s to in a more positive manner?! – i, along w/ many other african-americans have the same problem w/ BET!!! – the fact that it’s call Black Ent. TV shouldn’t be synonymous w/ Buffoon Ent. TV – leave that to MTV and their Jackass’…next, discussing sex in general much less your own sex life to a national publication doesn’t make you powerful – there is absolutely NO LIBERATION in that!…it actually looks more shameless than anything and tags you as having nothing more to offer…keep in mind that she is an actress and thus is judged primarily on how she looks in the 1st place – men/women prolly fantasize about sexual interactions w/ her daily…so why not discuss more refined aspects of her life?! and if sex HAD TO BE the topic of convo there’s a way more classy way to go about discussing it!…lastly, nothing i said was negative – it was all constructive and there’s a big difference…constructive in that i was seeking something w/ more substance from the IMAGE that was being offerred where as what you responded w/ was negative…negative in the sense that this is the type of attitude, i.e. “your momma was f*ckin’ your daddy” that our young women are developing at an early age which subjects them to the scrutiny, racism, and discrimination they face everyday for no reason other than they don’t seperate themselves from the stereotypes that have confined their growth for hundreds of years…at some point in your life that’ll be you sitting in front of a male interviewer for a job you know you need/deserve and he’ll only be thinking of ways to get you to “blow him or suck his balls!!!” you gonna tell him, “sure, cause exposing my sexuality to advance my career makes me powerful?!”…you WAKE UP!!!…and while you’re at it – pay it forward///
Moron… you’re missing the point, this is a periodical, something for sale, if you don’t like it don’t purchase it! IF you don’t want your daughter reading it give her an alternative, if you don’t want to patronize BET don’t access their channels, but there is nothing wrong with them pushing their, agendas or brand of promotion. You have a choice, if you feel there are better articles for reading or shows to watch then support those. Funny you come to a site that is basically (thelifefiles) which promotes almost everything you detest! Secondly if you do not teach your daughter she is a sexual individual, and teach her how to handle her sexuality, another man will do it for you, and you may not like his methods. You need to teach there is nothing wrong with it, it’s as natural as breathing, but to take stock in herself, and value herself as a precious commidity, not try and hide things from her and try to keep her bottled up!!! That form of censorship will lead her right into a starring role in Lexington Steele video!!! Lastly if you are looking for Liberation you won’t find it in any media outlet that makes money through paid subscription or commercial based income. Nothing is worse than the oerson that watches BET just to say it’s doing nothing but harm, how many after school clubs have you started, where do you volunteer your weekend time, what scout troop do you work with? And also, if you think the comment of your mother procreating with your father to bring you to life is NEGATIVE I think you could benefit from some therapy with a mental professional!
yea BUT, you still sound like a broad though
Have you seen Zoe’s boyfriend?
i’d beast on her but she doesn’t look like she takes it like a champ.
Ooooh my friend it’s always the ones you least expect, that surprise you the MOST!!!
maaaaaaaaaaaan ever since i saw her in snipes back in 2002 i knew she would be somthing big, like her beauty and they way she acted. but for real though, i want to stick my dick in her.
