it may be a fact, but it’s extremely rude and insensitive. There’s no justification for being unnecessarily rude to someone.

i’m a guy, and i don’t stern is right. he goes concluding because she’s fat, she can’t get a new role…. how foolish and stupid is that? we all know she is a big woman…. but the girl got talent, and that’s all u need to act. to my knowlege, there have been and there are actresses who are not that “good looking”, but have had successful carreers. well, she shall see about that… from what i hear she’s already filming role for a show and have another movie in the works.

There is a strange bias in this country to ignore the obestiy problem. Ms. Sidebe is huge and unheathy. Stern is correct, there will never be a leading role for this woman. She probably has high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart issues. She is in for a horrible and young death.

I think Gabourey herself shouldn’t be the one scrutinized here. Sure, she’s fat and ugly, but fat and ugly people exist in the real world, so realistically there will be plenty of work for her or other fat Black women.

The problem is that she shouldn’t be glorified for her obesity. She is becoming a symbol of strength for Black women, particularly fat ones. Her message is that it’s okay to be obese, that obesity is acceptable and even glamorous. And the last thing Black females need is another poor example of us. In the media, Black women are portrayed as angry and bitter, or slutty and trampy or obese and jolly. The ones deened sexy are box-permed and generally try too hard.

Gabourey is all right, but people are wrong for applauding her obesity. I’m not mad at Howard Stern, but it was pretty rude. But he’s rude to everyone. Should she be left out because she’s fat and Black?
