Barack Obama And The Democrats Push Through Historic Health Care Reform Bill

With all the back and forth it’s been hard to follow what’s really going on here, but according to the AP:

Summoned to success by President Barack Obama, the Democratic-controlled Congress approved historic legislation Sunday night extending health care to tens of millions of uninsured Americans and cracking down on insurance company abuses, a climactic chapter in the century-long quest for near universal coverage.

Widely viewed as dead two months ago, the Senate-passed bill cleared the House on a 219-212 vote. Republicans were unanimous in opposition, joined by 34 dissident Democrats.

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said the legislation awaiting the president’s approval would extend coverage to 32 million Americans who lack it, ban insurers from denying coverage on the basis of pre-existing medical conditions and cut deficits by an estimated $138 billion over a decade. If realized, the expansion of coverage would include 95 percent of all eligible individuals under age 65.

For the first time, most Americans would be required to purchase insurance, and face penalties if they refused.

Check out the CNN report above and find out what, if anything, is going to change for you. This was a HUGE win for President Obama in his Presidency…

The reform has officially passed so only time will tell how positively or negatively this will be for the American economy overall…not estimations projected by either side, not propaganda proposed by other sides about the financial concern; but the actual figures as time goes on.

It was interesting nonetheless to see how house meetings take place. It was also rather interesting to see how a party member would react when things don’t go in his favor…who says “Baby killer” at such a political meeting? A 12 year old without a better outlook of expression? Nonetheless, i hope this works in the favor of the American public financially.

kudos Obama, while the Republican party spent a great deal of the last 20 years trying to find its conservative ass… you were able to pass monumental levels of epic, pseudo-socialist, pro massive government spending bullshit in a matter of ONE YEAR and THREE MONTHS! That shit is simply amazing. Who says the system is broken??? That shit is working better than ever when all you need to pass a bill is a few backroom deals, last minute executive orders, a little bit of arm twisting and the desire to ram a bill through with half of represented America up in arms :)

Maybe Jay-Z will swing through to help you celebrate!!!
