Jill was on CNN talking to Tony Harris about her new movie Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Too and shared her thoughts on her controversial recent Essence column talking about interracial dating.  Here’s a snippet:

My new friend is handsome, African-American, intelligent and seemingly wealthy. He is an athlete, loves his momma, and is happily married to a White woman. I admit when I saw his wedding ring, I privately hoped. But something in me just knew he didn’t marry a sister. Although my guess hit the mark, when my friend told me his wife was indeed Caucasian, I felt my spirit…wince. I didn’t immediately understand it. My face read happy for you. My body showed no reaction to my inner pinch, but the sting was there, quiet like a mosquito under a summer dress.

In the interview above Jill says she thinks interracial dating is mainly a real problem America because of the country’s history and doesn’t seem to be as much of an issue abroad.

My ex was black and white mixed and he always said if we have children please let them look more of one race either way. He always explained that he found it really difficult growing up as neither race wanted to know him or understood him. Black people said he wasn’t black enough to be the way he was and white people said he was too ghetto.
beyond what inter-racial relationships producing bi-racial children and the hardship they may suffer its trying to understand why people go for or sort after the people they do. Personally I feel love is love its hard to find with out putting barriers up but really I would like to just find a GOOD man. Period!

I feel the same way about fat women. Replace interracial with fat and those are my feelings exactly! Fat people should not date outside their size. It sickens me.

Lol that sounds just as stupid in my head as it dose in concept, skin color has nothing to do with health, it’s reasonably understandable to avoid sick people… you can always loose weight, but thinking that someone should need to have same skin color just to look esthetically pleasing to you just tells people how shallow and fucked up in the you head must be. You should go back to kinder garden and make poopy jokes!
