^needs to be a part of this… cool vid.
Dame seems to constantly contradict himself. It’s easy to re-write your former persona with hind-sight. However what he said about being open to work with anyone is very true and an integral part of being truly creative.
Is it me of does anyone else think that he is still reeling over the whole Roc-a-Fella fallout? He is saying one thing but his body language gives off an entirely different message.
I agree Mr. A.
this is exactly why Dame was always the brains of Rocafella.
yeah, only he wasnt the only brains of rocafella and alot of his decisions were wrong as hell and some were shot down by the other 2 co-CEOs
I’m glad Dame is making moves. Granted he was a self-admitted asshole and this experience was necessary to humble him but what Jay Z did to him was so foul that I don’t know how he didn’t wild out. I don’t think he deserved what happened to him. Imagine if you and two friends get together and build an empire from scratch then one of them goes behind your back and conspires with someone to act like they are going to buy your company so you sell only to find out that they’re selling it right back to your partner but excluding you and your other partner. Some call that good business on Jay Z’s part but I call it foul and believe he did Dame Dash, Biggs, and everyone he has dealt with dirty. He uses people and discards them like yesterdays newspaper. And to clear the air I’m not a Jay Z hater, in fact I own every album and love his music. I’m a fan of his music but not the man. I think Dame has shown tremendous restraint in not airing Jay Z out, if anyone knows his secrets, embarrassments, etc it’s Dame but he hasn’t really said anything, that to me shows a better quality of a man.
I wish this new and improved Dame Dash much success.
I partly agree…I don’t think it’s restraint…i think it’s the hustlers code…but Dame was doin dirt as well. (see Beans) Cuz if Jay really did him dirty, i’m sure there would have been more than words exchanged. Dame got caught double dippin…I respect his hustle and perserverance, and that RACHEL ROY deal is bigger than he gets credit for..
To be honest I don’t think Dame is such a great businessman. I just think Jay fell into his lap and with Reasonable Doubt having the success it did, it was inevitable success. Granted Jay was probably more shady than he should have been in regards to the Roc-A-Fella break up, but Dame had his share of shade as well. The smartest thing Kanye ever did was continue with Jay.
this sounds good only the facts are all wrong…
its funny how people keep saying jay-z did dame wrong even after beanie sigel said dame was stealing money from jay-z and the whole rocafella company. but people seem to forget that huh?… jay-z didnt go behind dame’s back. all 3 of them agreed to selll rocafella to defjam and that point they were no longer partners or friends.
also jay-z was the one to hold his lounge the most. right after everything happend in 2005 dame dash did a million interviews trying to convince everybody jay did him dirty, fortunately the people who know the real story were still out there and didnt fall for it…
those who say dont know, and those who know, dont say….
So happy to see Dame doing something positive for the youth!
Just being apart of this because I’m gonna be apart of that. Carry on.
I can’t believe this is the first time life has mentioned Curren$y…
curren$y is that dude – a real spitter.
although in retrospect, guess he left young money too soon – cuz them niggas everywhere now – and curren$y is easily as nice if not nicer than erybody in that group – lil wayne excepted.
wonder if he’d rethink that decision if he had to go back and do it again.
Big-ups to Life! This is a good look for Dame. I would NEVER smoke with him though.
interesting….
Someone ripped him a new asshole commenting on the Village Voice
I mean over here, http://www.observer.com/2010/culture/wannabe-warhol?page=1
Dame is a clown. Anyone that believes anything he says is a fool. He’s the ultimate spinster. Trying to be all “indie” now. Psh…
does anyone know that song by currensy in the background
Breakfast, produced by mos def.
thanks a lot , i appreciate it
lol Come on Dame.. stress got you buring trees during interviews? You bigger than that son. Stay in the cut and move in silence. If you’re doing it.. do it! Then talk about it.
I knew Curren$y was with lil wayne/young money at one point i just wasnt sure if that was they same dude…but yea “hes mad” cause he def would be getting hella young money paper right now, right up there with Drake && Nicki MInaj that sucks…
=[…
As for Dame Dash, I love him, always have! like he said its his swagg…BUT he talkin all this shit in the video sayin much of nothing cause we already knew that… I feel like im lookin at a Russel Simmons/Spike Lee wannabe in this video,
though i am tryna see his ass on top again cause that shit was short lived && i wanna see what Dame really has in store for us all bullshit aside.
As for the whole rocafella situation we never will know what really happened, all I know is that it played a huge part in destroying hip hop…the ones already makin money got greedy and wanted it all, messed it up for everybody!
As for Rachel Roy that was def a good look for him, she is doing her thing right now, its a shame that didnt last.
Is curren$y signed to Rocafella
because the other day him and Wiz Khalifa were interviewed with Mtv and Spitta was rocking Rocafella chain.
Dame is a broke man using everyone else’s money to get somewhere. Oh and how impresive to your young fans to smoke in an interview. That’s real posotive feedback for them to grow up on. I thought we were suppose to teach our kids that drugs are NO good??? Well…? Get a real job, and know what it’s like to earn some real hard working money!
As many know, fashion is a form of art, art a form of symbolism, and symbolism a means of expression. These are all inter-related facets and fundamental to one another. Much of this, in the end, is rooted in tradition, as tradition is another means of expression and symbolism.
i am really appreciating you for your kindness that you have made a really interesting blog and peoples are always seeking to get information and share their ideas. Great work Man and keep it going. God bless you!
