This is either a very clever viral marketing campaign or an Apple is about to get an axe. Tech website Gizmodo is saying that an Apple executive left a prototype for the new iPhone at a bar in California and if this is the real next generation iPhone here’s whats they’ve found so far:
What’s new…
• Front-facing video chat camera
• Improved regular back-camera (the lens is quite noticeably larger than the iPhone 3GS)
• Camera flash
• Micro-SIM instead of standard SIM (like the iPad)
• Improved display. It’s unclear if it’s the 960×640 display thrown around before—it certainly looks like it, with the “Connect to iTunes” screen displaying much higher resolution than on a 3GS.
• What looks to be a secondary mic for noise cancellation, at the top, next to the headphone jack
• Split buttons for volume
• Power, mute, and volume buttons are all metallic
What’s changed…
• The back is entirely flat, made of either glass (more likely) or ceramic or shiny plastic in order for the cell signal to poke through. Tapping on the back makes a more hollow and higher pitched sound compared to tapping on the glass on the front/screen, but that could just be the orientation of components inside making for a different sound
• An aluminum border going completely around the outside
• Slightly smaller screen than the 3GS (but seemingly higher resolution)
• Everything is more squared off
• 3 grams heavier
• 16% Larger battery
• Internals components are shrunken, miniaturized and reduced to make room for the larger battery

Is Apple EVER going to release the iPhone to any other carrier?!
Verizon is supposed to get their own version of the iPhone, later this year. AT&T owned the exclusive rights to it for the first four years after its initial launch. However, that contract will be expiring this summer.
Sweet! I was going to go to AT&T until Sprint came out with the plan where you can call any cell phone on any carrier and not use any minutes. I just couldn’t make myself leave Sprint then. LOL. I hope they they get it…

This is the elite item that is out of the reach of so many – but is the single most popular phone on the planet?

The iphone is none of those things. It’s not expensive – nor is it a sign of wealth and comfort precisely because it’s not expensive. For the record I have two phones – on Sprint’s network and Verizon’s network. So I have no affiliation or connection to T-Mobile whatsoever. I had an iphone but the lack of a keyboard is a dealbreaker for me.
AT@T is a mediocre network with spotty coverage – slow data – overpriced plans… but great branding. The Iphone is not a “luxury” item out of the reach of many. There are luxury phones – the Iphone is the fucking Honda Accord of phones. It’s not luxury in the least. Let’s see if you figure out the allusion – since your mind is so right.

This is mos def not the real 4G iPhone. No way Apple would use this design.. Everything they do these days are unibody, this one isn’t. The size of the SSD is 80gb, would never happen. Really unsure of the resolution, the recent apps on AppStore are designed for a lower resolution screen, they would look weird on a higher res screen. And also, I don’t think that Apple is planning on yet another App store, iPhone apps and iPad apps are enough.

Yeah its only 80 cause you wouldn’t need more if indeed has an SD card slot because you would only need less than 80gb to multi task and cache and with the new 64gb sd cards you would be able to store your music and videos. and as far as uni-body that case wouldn’t work on a phone aluminum will hinder your cell signal so only the sides are aluminum and the back is ceramic witch has a better cell transparency and apple has filed a patten for a phone with a ceramic back. so in conclusion this may very well in fact be the iphone 4G.

I’ll stick to my Blackberry, thanks. I’ve heard too many people with iphones complain about it. Plus you can’t even get insurance. After having the TWing made by HTC, I’m over touch screens, they have the same problems. I will say some of the apps on that phone are cool, some are juvenile as well.
Once you go Black you never go back.
