Cameron Douglas will have to serve 5 years in a federal prison for his role in trafficking illegal substances as well as serve 5 years of supervised release when released from prison. He also has to pay a $25,000 dollar fine and serve 450 hours of community service as part of his plea deal. Both his father Michael Douglas and his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones wrote letters to the court asking for leniency in his sentencing. Guess he made out alright.

The charge itself is a mandatory 10 year sentence but with the numerous letters by A-lister friends of Michael Douglas as well as Kirk Douglas, he was let off a lot “easier” than the average Joe…isn’t life grand when you have friends with deep pockets and credentials
