Spencer Pratt Will Not Need Those Comp Tickets For M.I.A.’s Next Show

by admin on 04/29/2010 · 18 comments

We like M.I.A. but we thought her new video for “Born Free” was overkill – literally – but Spencer should spend more time worrying about Heidi and less time worrying about the latest music videos.  If you haven’t seen it – check out the video YouTube banned (ooooooh) after the jump.

This video is politically charged, it contains nudity (rape), violence, kidnapping and genocide to depict the atrocities carried out by the govt of Sri Lanka whose actions are systematic genocide toward Tamils. (P.S. The redheads are meant to symbolize TAMILS)

The video is a peice of creative art that shows what a great artist MIA is, she stands up for principals and for rights of TAMILS & Others. Unlike for instance Lady GAGA who is just in it for the fame and money.

All western countries had a chance to stop the genocide of hundreds of thousands of Tamils but declined, due to economic implications.

The U.S. Flag actually symbolizes the Sri Lankan Flag.

Peace !

This is really deep. GOOD JOB MIA. It actually has you pay attention and continue to watch it and then gets you thinking and then wanting to talk about it. I want to know exactly what it represents. If Krishan is right then WHOA!

Spencer Pratt can suck mine. I understand that the “explicit” content of this video can be a bit much to handle for the un-educated, immature mind – but I loved Maya’s purpose. There really is little knowledge in today’s world of the horrific Sri Lanka genocide, and I thoroughly appreciate her message amongst this music video.

Lady Gaga doesn’t even come close to the realness than is M.I.A.

Yeah Krishan is right, and most of the ppl dont know all of her video represent the real story(in this case srilankan genocide), actually C.I.A banned her from coming to U.S, then after sometime she married to some big shot’s(some c.o.o of warner bros)son then only they allowed. why do u think most of the artist dont collaborate with her coz of the political implication.

she is real deal, not a commercialized singer

Don’t have a problem with her using a US flag on the soldiers, though it would have made a lot more sense to use a UK flag since the British are known for having issues with gingery people. Other than a few south park episodes I haven’t really noticed it here in the states. Either way the details aren’t as important as the overall theme.
