Facebook Just Got Somebody Else Fired….

by admin on 05/18/2010 · 12 comments

They take their slogan very seriously….now get fired up and out em!

22-year old Ashley Johnson just learned what you should already know – more than just your friends are reading your Facebook page.  After serving a couple for 3 hours including one hour after she was supposed to be off and receiving a $5 tip Ashley posted the following update to her wall, according to the Charlotte Observer:

“Thanks for eating at Brixx,” she wrote, before using profanity and calling the customers, who were not identified in any way in the post, “cheap.”

The next day Ashley was called by a manager who let her know she was being fired for violating the company policy by “speaking ill” about customers. “We definitely care what people say about our customers,” says Jeff Van Dyke co-owner of Brixx.

Did her company go too far??

She didn’t threaten to murder said customers. She spoke her mind, which is what a status update is about, no? Not condoning profanity but she did nothing “wrong.” Bad judgment since anyone can now read your updates but “Wrong,?” No! You caused her to remain an extra hour, on top of the two hours spent already serving you? You decide to tip her $5…really? But apparently it’s company policy for those speaking ill against customers. Nonetheless, customers like that should never ever ever ever ever eat in public places if they decide to tip waiters in such a manner when they caused said waiter to go an extra mile for their needs. I can guarantee she served them well.

Come on’ it’s no secret that next to Canadians and senior citizens, black people are the worst tippers. lol It’s cultural fine, but the fact remains so fuck it. It is what it is.

Please show me where those facts are, and not just an ignorant stereotype. Not all black people are bad tippers. I’m black and I always tip 15%-20% of whatever my bill is.

Here’s a social experiment for you that will educate you on the reality of my statement…Go get a job as a waiter and come back here and tell me what you learned about black people and their tipping habits.

I will vouch for this as both a bartender and a waiter black people were by far THE worst tippers. Extra demanding and i could always bet they were only going to leave 2 dollars. which they always did. SMH.

Its Obvious neither of you have waited on anyone Asian!?!?!?! I won’t even go into it- just know that blacks are far from the worst tippers- But then again- if your basing it on your exp. There may be a clue or three hinting to the establishment in which you were working and the clientele.

Facebook has nothing to do with ur work. It is a method of self-expression and freedom of speach. Id sue the fuck out of the company for wrongful dismissle!

Stop blaming it on the customers. If a restaraunt is open it is the waiter, waitress, or bartender’s job to be there. I know servers work for tips and if there aren’t enough customers get sent home. If it isn’t worth the server’s time to be there that’s between the server and the employer. I’ve worked on commission. Whether or not it was worth my time to be at work was between my employer and me not my customers and me.

She shouldn’t have posted those things on Facebook about her customers. That’s unprofessional.
