Nearly a dozen states and several cities are banning or debating bans on K2 — a packet of herbs coated with a synthetic chemical that mimics a marijuana high when it’s smoked — amid fears that its use is spreading among young people.
K2, also known as “Spice,” is sold online, in convenience stores and in herbal or spiritual shops, and is usually marketed as incense. The herbs, which sell for as much as $35 an ounce, have emerged as a popular, legal alternative to marijuana among teenagers and college students.
The Sacred Journey, a medicinal herb store in Lawrence, Kan., had sold K2 starting in August as part of a collection of incense, owner Natalie McAnulla says. Store sales skyrocketed from $1,000 a day to $10,000 a day.

you are ridiculously uneducated. the prescription drug market is so overblown and unnecessary. Herbal medicine is the much healthier, easier to obtain, and more affordable option rather than stacks of synthetic prescription medications that do much more harm rather than good. The government just needs to legalize and tax this stuff already so anyone who prefers natural medicine can obtain it instead of having pills shoved down their throats.
I don’t have any statistics so everything i’m going to say is from what i’ve seen, heard, or expirenced. Prescription drugs, i believe they have been blown out of porportion, i know several people with more than 5 perscriptions each. I have never had a perscription and i don’t believe i’ve had all my shots however the last time i was sick was over 6 years ago when i drank sour milk.
When it comes to illegal drugs weed is truely a gateway drug, i’ve witnessed that with my own eyes. I have also never met a person in my life with any sort of illness that would require them to get a perscription to weed. So what i’m saying about that is there are far more people out there that smoke weed and doesn’t need it than those who do. Those people are ruining for the one’s that may actually need it.
When it comes to hardcore illegal drugs it should be done away with. I realize that this would be an extremely difficult goal so my personal solution would be making the law much more strick so that if you get caught with it, on or in you, you die. I know thats harsh but i’ve seen what drugs do to a person (multiple people actually). Plus I hear the worlds population is expected to double over the next 50 years. So clearly we need a form of population control and why should the good people (in my eyes) suffer?

You guys are wusses, these potpourri and incense blends are safe and I have used them for quite a while now. Never had any negative issues and I would hardly describe it as an acid trip. It’s just a heavy head high basically but it doesn’t effect me that much. I prefer to roll L’s of it. Can’t smoke the real stuff so sticking with this for a while. Don’t use these products if you can’t handle it, or better yet, do not do drugs at all. The person that said this is like an acid trip clearly has never tripped their balls off before on some good L.

First time I smoked potpourri I tried Mr. Happy and I head tripped like crazy I had conscious dreams that I would drift in and out from. It was intense but very frightening since it was my first time. The next few times a smoked it was smokin’ camel potpourri 5x I took one hit and it felt like a pot high, had the permasmile laighing at everything the whole bit, then I did it at a buddies house once 2 hits and again same effect as pot, a few hours later I took 3 hits, the more you have in your blood stream the more you trip because I lost it, the world shrunk and everything started shaking I couldn’t control what happened and peoples voices were scary as hell. Don’t start smoking anything but if you must smoke something I do suggest smokin’ camel it has no CP-47, 497, HU-210, HU211, JWH 018, JWH-0zr, JWH-019, JWH-398, JWH-200, JWH-250, JWH-015 or C8 Homologue. Don’t get me wrong I have no idea what half that stuff is but I like seeing it isn’t in there and I read that straight off the label on the bottle. Do not be stupid with this stuff I know too many people who have O.Ded off potpourri and you don’t want to seize or vomit blood or anything along those lines. Moderation is all I can say. Start with one hit and if you are gutsy enough work your way up. I am up to 4 hits before I trip and I smoke it too much.
Ok, so im 19 years old and ive been smoking pot since i was 13. Normally me and my friends would smoke or try to smoke high grade really dank bud. So our tolerence you can say was pretty high. Recently i moved away from my home and moved to kentucky. Not knowing anyone at all i had 0 bud connections, which left me to smoke “spice”. So i ran out of my weed i brought with me and about a week later got spice at the smoke shop. So excited that i got it i rolled up a blunt as fast as i could, took about 7 hits and my world change. Basically i was high as shit, out of my mind, thought it would never end. But it only really lasted for an hour and it became more enjoyable. It honestly just scared me but 2 hours later i was fine. Do i recomment this shit to anyone? Fuck no. Smoke the real shit. I got 1.5 grams of this and i just want to flush it down the toilet, but in the back of my mind i wanna get high. So overall, take 1hit and quit lol. Or just dont smoke it at all.

I wont ever smoke potpourri “7H Purple Haze” again, I was smoking hash and marijuana but had to quit for spiritual advancement and the pursuit of a career. I don’t want to work a dead end job, and want to replace my love for Mary Jane with the love of a woman, so I had to quit smoking the real thing.
I am 26 year old young man with a foundation in recovery from addiction, and I started to smoke potpourri to help me deal with the early stages of marijuana withdrawal. My ex girl friend, whom I love smokes the stuff allot, and I became kind of scared for her and want her to quit.

DO NOT TRY IT!!!! I use to smoke it until it added to my heart problems. My boyfriend and most of his friends smoke it too. My boyfriend has been doing it for about a year and it has turned him very aggressive. If he doesn’t have it, cant get it, or hasn’t smoked in awhile he becomes very irritated and angery. It is very addicting for some people. I’ve seen him go through 3 bags in one day. I would almost see him smoke real weed instead because this stuff makes you stupid when you smoke it. And to top it all off it has pretty much ruined our relationship. It breaks my heart to know he’s so addicted because I love him very much and would do anything for him but I can’t get him to stop. </3

I would not be suprized if this psychodelic “spice” wanabe crap does crystalize your brain and make your lungs melt, while we fund government intrests. I am 45 and have smoked weed for nearly 30 years now. During a “dry spell” I was told about this stuff and went to a local 60′s themed shop where they carried it.
Here is how stupid I am… I went in and it was just me and the clerk and he asked if he could help. I said “My friend was telling me about this supposedly ‘legal weed” , do you have that?”
The guy behind the counter said “NO, but I have this potpourri” drawing out the word ‘potpourri’. I replied “Nah, not interested in any potpourri, just this legal weed. Are you sure you don’t have any? My friend named this place specifically.”
The clerk, again, looking me directly in the eye, replied “No, I have this potpourri……” drawing out the word again.
It finally dawned on me what he was doing and I had an A-HA moment and went to the counter to look at his “potpourri”.
I bought a brand called “Stink Eye” Arabic Blend in a 3g package.
I would like to review it for those interested.
Like I said, I am 45 and have high blood pressure. I mention that because this stuff is not like weed at all. My stomach knotted up and my heart began to race. I have done a number of drugs in my life and right away, I could tell this was a chemical high, not a natural. ONE HIT from a one hitter (not even the whole one hit) and not only did my heart start racing but I became extremely paranoid and anxious. Part of that may be due to the sudden increase in heart rate and my knowledge of my high blood pressure, but nonetheless, it was very real and frightening to me.
It is a dark and negative high It is intense for about 20 minutes and winds down over an hour. I do not recommend smoking it at all, but if you do, the first time you smoke it you should smoke it with someone who is a “pro” at smoking it so all the paranoid questions that come up can be answered by someone who has experience. Questions like “Should I be feeling my heart pounding?” or”should my extremities be tingling?” or “Am I just being paranoid?”…. which are all questions I had, but had no one to answer for me.
I just want to say me and my bf have been together for 5years now always smoked weed more then a dub a day anyways I recently had a baby now 3months old and don’t smoke my bf does not smoke weed anymore but smokes the smoking camal spice its ruining our relationship and his relationship with his family when he smokes it he puts his head down n nods off he is now addicted and were running out of money he smokes it at least 10 times a day I’m so scared for him he acts crazy and gets mad and yells at me if I tell him to stop or at least cut down he had a seizure from it. I tried it the smoking camal kind and thought I was going to die literally I wwanted to fo to the hosp and he didn’t want to take me my hearts starts pounding my mput

Ok, so I’m an addict.. I hate this stuff and prefer the real stuff. I would grow weed on my window seal if I could. The problem is that I’m a 30 year old mother who dosen’t have contacts. This fake stuff really isn’t good for you and if you feel like your dying- you are just killing yourself slowly. I thought about buying some today but as I stepped out the back door this morning, I was reminded of the pile of vomit in the back yard from a few weeks ago. I know this isn’t good and if anything that is synthetics should not be put in your body. Until you have had trips-laying on the bed feeling like your slipping away then you really have no idea what your doing to yourself. For those who feel they have nothing to loose- do as you please. I am a wife of a military member (my husband had no idea that I was addicted) buy feel that since I am almost done w/my degree and have two beautiful kids that tell me I’m the best mommy, I have everything to loose. I just lost my brother the first of this month (He sold and made this stuff when it first came out- he was the creator and owner of Mr. Eddies headies).. I just want to tell the truth and if helping one person realize that one more time could be the last-and something like this can kill you-then I am happy that I conquered my addiction. I have been studying to be a social psychologist and tell you that it could be surprising but many people you think are good people may have a serious problem w/this-any of this fake pot. There are so many things wrong with our government-legalize MJ and get rid of this poison. If govt controlled like tobacco, the tax and money made off of pot can go back into our economy and help improve society. It’s so simple that it really drives me crazy thinking about it. Hope I changed one mind about the unknowns that our putting in your body.

umm personally i think smoking camel is pretty great. it gets me all bombed out. it’s a little different than a weed high and you’re heart beats hella fast. i’ve never had a bad trip, but a couple of my friends did. one started puking and turned really pale and shit. it was pretty scary i thought she was gonna die for a second. ha. my other friend tripped on it the next day, too. not that bad he just said he didnt like it and was kinda seeing shit haha. it was smoking camel 7x i think. i’ll smoke spice if i have to but i’d much rather just stick to miss jane<3
