one of my homegirl drinks while pregnant. she was in denial for so long about her pregnancy she just drank away. now that its out in the open that she is really pregnant, her excuse is that GOD told her she could drink WINE while pregnant. i’ve heard of ppl drinking wine while pregnant, but not an entire bottle or box. mmmmkay…
psh, that fetal alcohol syndrome thing people talk about is just a myth. ain’t nothing wrong with drinking, it just gives your baby a higher tolerance.
I’ve seen women who drank while pregnant have babies with fetal alcohol syndrome so it isn’t a myth. it’s true.
in fact, you see brain damage – specially shrinkage in the cerebral cortex in ADULTS who drink excessively or are alcoholics. so if you get reduction of neuronal count in fully formed adult brains – what do you think happens to tabula rasa – blank slates -babies?
referenced the above woman i knew who drank while pregnant, had a daughter. one of the classic signs of fetal alcohol syndrome is microcephaly – a noticeably small head circumference and size. for reference babies obviously all have big heads – and fetal alcohol babies don’t. they also have small widely spaced eyes. they walk late – if ever – and talk late, if ever. they also develop heart problems and a lot die in youth.
it’s not cool.
