Dear Britain: It’s In Our Waters, Stay Out Of This

by admin on 06/14/2010 · 13 comments

Several British press outlets have begun to lash out at US President Obama because of his new firmer stance with the British owned company that is basically emptying an oil well into the Gulf.  According to a news report:

As the Obama administration has joined the chorus of U.S. politicians lambasting BP over the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, a plume of anger is rising across the Atlantic at what many see as an unfair castigation of a British icon. U.S. officials have demanded that BP suspend dividend payments for the time being, and Obama has said he would have fired Chief Executive Tony Hayward if Hayward worked for him.

Grandstanding and buck-passing, say many British politicians, pundits and pensioners, hitting back at what they see as intimidation tactics directed at a company that has brought immense value to the British — and global — economy.

“The president should make it clear that he has no desire to destroy a great global company,” Malcolm Rifkind, a former Cabinet minister, warned Friday. “The future of its chief executive is for the company to decide and not for the White House. While he might, as he has said, wish to ‘kick ass,’ he should concentrate his energies on more productive activity.”

Representatives from the U.S. State Department of have already come forward to say this is nonsense since BP is a privately held company.  We love our UK LIFERS but we all share the world so we gotta take care of it blokes – BP will be fine…….

BP-the most error prone history out of any oil company, ignored safety regulations that killed 11 workers, took shortcuts to buy and lease equipment that was cheaper and less secure, never had any sort of comprehensive, legitimate plan to deal with an oil spill of this magnitude.
i wanna see obama to put people in handcuffs, and get some big checks written

the oil leak right now is nothing but just think of the damage it has and will cause for the environment for years to come it might just make the gulf very desolate setting up for 2012 just nice a couple of lightening strikes a couple of on water fires hmm this is going to be rough for that area of the country
