In hopes of getting some extra customers who were literally wild about the 2010 World Cup, a restaurant in Arizona has added African Lion Burgers to their menu. According to the report out of Phoenix:
Lion meat is a delicacy in South Africa, the host country for the 2010 World Cup soccer championship. The owners of il Vinaio decided to pair a meat from there with a fine wine. After consulting a business that deals in wild game, lion meat was the choice.
The menu item also has some people in an uproar. The owners have been flooded with phone calls about the menu selection. Cameron Selogie said comments have ranged from the good to the not so good. “It’s ranged from, ‘It’s immoral,’ to bomb threats, to personal threats. Some people have said they’re gonna come down and shoot us.”
He said he’s also gotten a lot of positive comments that outnumber the negative ones by a ratio of 10-to-1. Even though the meals are $21 a plate, he said there are a lot of people wanting to bite. USDA spokesman Jim Brownlee says lion meat is an uncommon dish, but he knew of no prohibitions against it.
Well he got his free publicity, but would you try it???

LOL, LIONS ROAR
I live in the south of Switzerland where some people eat cat meat ( not me though )
horse meat it’s very popular and tasty too .
I don’t find anything immoral about it, I understand someone who doesn’t eat some food for religious or cultural matters, but I don’t find it right to make a specific law against it, ( as long as it’s not an endagered species).
Each one shuold be free to eat what they like.
I agree and I dont judge those who decide to eat lion. Here in NY we eat chicken, goat and some eat duck. Although, I can be rather greedy, I’ll pass on the lion meat. Plus Im a Leo
7/31!!!
I’m sorry…my husband made horse meat and I swear the whole house smelled like hay.
yeah but it would have smelled bad if he made pork as well
nu uh, love me some pig
ANYONE WHO WOULD EVEN THINK OF EATING SUCH A MAJESTIC BEAST SHOULD JUST DIE!!!
Just to let you guys know, lions are not a delicacy in sa they are an endangered species. We protect them as much as we can
