slave music. i’ll pass.
“slave music” is the music that guided many runaways a safe passage to the north via the underground railroad. while on the plantation, “slave music” allowed the disanfranchised, enslaved Africans a way to communicate without the overseer (officer) knowing what they were talking about. this “slave music” probably educated some of your ancestors (if you are a descendant of enslaved Africans in the Americas) and allowed them to know how to get the hell off the plantation when the time was right!!! now if (and I did say IF) you listen to some of the music of today and called it “slave music,” then i’d understand…..
