Chris Brown represented for Michael Jackson with a tribute performance on the BET Awards which ended in Brown hardly being able to finish “Man In The Mirror” while trying to fight back tears. Check out the performance after the jump.

Chris Brown definitely owned that performance but what troubles me is that I feel this “crying” is an act to make people think that he’s matured and that he’s also capable of having a “heart”.
You have to remember that CB is signed to a major label and anything they can do for image recovery can only be beneficial for their own success.
totally agree with u …TOTALLY
It may be true that he cried for alternative reasons, but guys, if it was a good performance, then it was a good performance.
He made a huge mistake and everybody with a mouth got to see it happening … how many people make huge mistakes and have it on blast like that?
I am willing to forgive the Sneaker King aka Chris Brown, maybe just maybe others should think of their big mistakes and should try forgiveness too.
great comment, PhilWil. i totally agree. with all that he’s been through recently, i can understand why ‘man in the mirror’ would bring him to tears. think about how significant that song is for someone in his position.
Went Ham.
someone had to be negative.
why da negativity?
Best performance of the night PERIOD!!!!
Oh and Patti was great as well, lol
I think he’s going for the sympathy vote, he’s a good dancer but that’s about it, All i’am trying to say is that people don’t forget…. and he FUCKED UP in a BIG way.
His dancing wasn’t bad (although I’ve seen other people doing better) but his crying looks soooooo fake!
Jon Legend was thinking the same thing as I was. Check his face at the end.
Contrived like a motherfucker.
LMAO
Chris Brown is an entertainer and his performance was crazy entertaining. If you want to buy his album or support him in anyway, you will. Chris Brown deserved a proper moment on the BET Awards especially in celebration of Michael Jackson. His tears were so damn natural…. u try being hated last year and then super loved the next.
“No one man should cry all that tears…”
lol!
Why was he crying?
to gain sympathy from the public and dat is alll
ohh shut up !
Hands down, Chris Brown’s Tribute was simply amazing! He hit every move like Mike, he truly did leave his heart on the stage. But to keep it real, he is still a bitch ass women beating fag. But damn can he dance!
lol damn. and i agree he can sure dance.
YALL ALL SOME HATERS!
must be a bunch of women who got they ass kicked taking it out on chris!
my son loves his music so i like him and yeah my son will be a women beater and will beat your daughters ass when she older yada yada!!
CB is back bitches!!!
Chris Pimp hand Brown is back bitches!!
so agree with you !!!!!
The performance was AMAZING!!!! C Breezy is the only person who could do MJ any justice. I think the “Man in the Mirror” was an emotional moment for him b/c he has to start each day by looking himself in the mirror and wondering who is judging him each time he steps out the door.
He made a mistake – a really bad one – but we must forgive him……just like we need to be forgiven when we mess up.
totally agree!
Michael would have loved this. and you can see that Chris is hungry. So he’s fighting. I see how some may think his tears were all part of the plan but i’m sure he knew there would be people saying “that was fake” idk. i think he just got caught up with emotions because truth be told, he should have been part of the tributes last year… anyway, great performance. that boy can dance!
precisely. thats why he got choked up. plus the song is emotional. then on top of that its MJ!
epic performance!
Chris Brown has redeemed himself with me. My biggest gripe with him has always been that he really didn’t take responsibility for what he did and that his punishment wasn’t harsh enough. But his break down last night was the first and most realest apology that he’s ever offered during this entire situation. No, he didn’t verbally say sorry, but his art is how expresses himself and last night I got a 100% real and genuine expression of sorrow from him. I can tell that the backlash of this incident has humbled him out and opened his eyes to reality. Some of his fans are still absolutely nuts, but after seeing his performance I’m ready to forgive him. I honestly believe that he understands the significance of his mistake, is owning up to it and is really sorry. Hopefully he’ll take it to the next level and educate his fans a little more about the seriousness of domestic violence and that it shouldn’t be tolerated at all.
this young man is one of the best performers that we have today, hands down
Good performance, this won’t change anything though. Nice pr move though : )
In the past everyone was like oh he’s heartless he has no emtions..now he shows it and its a PR move? STFU
no brezzy fan here!
All these negative comments right here is exactly why dude broke down because the bullshit never stops no matter what he does someone always has something to say! I don’t see nothing fake about his tears because throughout this whole ordeal dude has had a tough skin trying to get through it. But seriously though how much do you expect one person to take? When ya’ll make mistakes you got your family and friends disappointed in you and that’s as far as it goes! Imagine having the whole world hate you over that one mistake ya’ll wouldn’t be able to take it but so much either before just completely break down. So STOP it!
did a great job….haters fuck off
okay, Chris is still a young man and was even younger when that happened. I honestly think his relationship with Rhianna may have been his first real intense relationship to begin with. Add to that that he grew up seeing his mother get beat, so naturally he did what he was taught when things went bad. It’s not right, but it’s what happens, that’s how men start abusing girlfriends, because it’s what they have seen. And then he was too young and too immature to know anything else. The good thing in all is that he got exposed to the world for what he did to her at a young age. I pray with all my heart that “early detection” and public humiliation will be a jump off to him healing from his childhood trauma and allow him to get the help and support he needs to grow up and mature beyond that behavior. Will I condone what he did….Hell no. Will I forgive him and give him a chance to prove he can do better…Hell yeah!!!!! That boy is talented and he could be a force in the industry if he is really sorry and steps up to the plate to do better and set better examples. We need to be an example to and for him also, though. Why is it wrong to forgive? I truly believes he sees the error of his ways and wants to do better. Do we really want to snuff someone life and career out because of bad decision at age 21? Damn , if that were the case a whole lot of us would be screwed for what we did in high school and college, think about your skeletons. His Mj tribute was heartfelt, in case you couldn’t tell, he loved MJ and learned all his video choreography before he even 8 years old. He met MJ and talked to him many times on the phone. It was Chris, not Usher, not Justin Timberlake that MJ really thought was the next big star and called Chris to tell him so personally. Chris had genuine affection for Mike, unlike alot of others who came out with all their “love” only after he died. His tribute was beautiful and REAL!!!! I have to admit, I steal can’t really get through Man in the Mirror myself without a tear dropping, that is the one song that still gets to me. it was the epitome of who and what Michael was to this world.
Awesome amazing performance !!! Just Great !!!
It’s actually one of the fakest crying jags I’ve seen. He was just fine dancing around in awkward repetition of Jackson’s most famous (and most aped) moves. Then two lines into the song he loses his shit? And before it even gets to the real meat of the lyrics? Clearly the guy doesn’t know how to build into an emotional moment, let alone sell it.
shut up.
oohhh shut the fuck !
i needed more!!
This is straight up my opinion. I’m not hating because I’ve never been a fan of his music at all…plain & simple.
He’s always been a great dancer…fine.
The dude was on stage too damn long though. 6+ minutes? Chris Brown? Word?
Oh, and coincidentally he comes out crying to “Man In The Mirror”. Did we really expect him to sing that song…especially after all that dancing?? The shit at the end was an act. If you don’t see that, wake the fuck up. The kid is dying for pity to get himself back on track. BET probably got paid under the table for this huge PR move by the label & all.
It aint even about the Rihanna incident anymore. It’s just about being so fake and, in my opinion, obvious. What a pathetic plea for pity. Good luck…
Chris Brown was great tears were real. you guys he’s not a thug. he’s a 19yr old kid who maid a mistake….i’m pretty sure all you chris brown haters never made mistakes at that age ( being sarcastic). by the way i didnt see you guys equate the same hate you have for chris brown into support for rihanna when her album came out.
he was 20 years old actually
Many 19 year olds make mistakes and they are behind bars. chris is very lucky.
If I were forced to sing a tribute song to Michael Jackson, I’d probably cry too.
Woman Beater honoring a child molester….only on BET!!
you r nothing but a bastard. yeah! i said it. and i will spit on your grave for saying such about MJ.
Truth hurts that much??? Damn..lol.
Michael Jackson touched little boys, slept in their beds, had them sleep in his bed, purchased multiple pieces of artwork of nude children, etc…what else do you need to know Michael Jackson was a twisted, perverted pedophile that used his fame, money and “Neverland” amusement park to exploit little boys…
Fuck a Michael Jackson
I think chris was singing to the choir all those people already love him. they are his friends. He should have done that in from of some white people then maybe he pr team would have gotten what they were aiming for. Thats who he lost, the white people.
bottom line if you wanna be forgiven in life for the mistakes you have made…. You HAVE to forgive others point blank so sum of yall need to kill the judgemental comments cuz im pretty sure ur FAR from perfect
stay blessed
chris browns performance was amazing and those were real tears for his fallen idol. Michael Jackson is the inspiration for so many musicians. Quit hatin people! Chris Brown is a great entertainer
id be crying if i were him too. and i must admit he is a good performer and phenomenal dancer, but i still wont be supporting him in the near future
